Announcing the "VanaFest Golden Gobbiebag Giveaway"! (EU)

The sneaky and stealthy goblins were able to infiltrate the FINAL FANTASY XI in-game item vaults and pilfer a ton of items right from under our noses... It turns out that it was all for a good cause because they are creating a variety of Golden Gobbiebags packed to the brim with goodies for some lucky adventurers to take home.

We have prepared a special survey based on the events and announcements of VanaFest 2012 to be posted after the event. By filling it out and answering the “Gobbie” question correctly you will be entered into a competition where you could win one of many Golden Gobbiebags, each exploding with a variety of rare in-game items!

How to Participate
Complete the VanaFest survey, answer the “Gobbie” question correctly, and you will be entered into a competition where you could win one of the Golden Gobbiebags below!

Participation Period: Tuesday, June 26, 2012 to Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 7:59am (GMT)
New schedule will be announced soon!

Restrictions
Only one entry can be made per Square Enix account.

* Employees of Square Enix, Square Enix, Inc. and Square Enix, Ltd. and their relatives are forbidden from participating in the VanaFest 2012 Giveaway.

You will be ineligible if you do not meet the following requirements:

You must have completed migration of your PlayOnline ID to the Square Enix Account system.
You must have a PlayOnline ID linked to a Square Enix account. If you have not linked your PlayOnline ID with your Square Enix account or you do not have a Square Enix account, please read the details here (http://www.playonline.com/homeus/polshift/) and apply for the giveaway after completing the necessary procedures.
You must have a FINAL FANTASY XI Content ID.

*Players still in their free trial period will not be able to participate.

Please note that you will lose the right to obtain your prize if any of the following situations occur:


The character name or world name was incorrect at time of application.
The character receiving the prize was deleted.
You select “Return” for the prize delivered from the MHMU.
There are over 128 items in your delivery box.
You already possess the item.
Though thorough testing has been performed, in the case that you possess multiples of the same rare item, authority to claim the prize will be nulled and the item will be deleted.

You must fill out the survey and correctly answer the “Gobbie” question included in the survey to be entered.
Selected winners will have their items automatically sent to the character listed during sign up.
The “Golden Gobbiebag I” winner will be selected from a combination of North America and Europe participants. All other winners will be selected by region.

It makes sense when you take into consideration that people are supposed to have their own accounts (sharing one (or more) with someone other than your minor child or legal guardian is actually a violation of the User Agreement). ^^;

I guess it also limits the amount of one user with several accounts/characters from hogging the limited number or prizes, so to speak. Not that there are no users with multiple SqEX Accounts...

Not trying to be an arse or anything. I just thought that knowing the above might explain some things to some users (as I know not many know about it, at all). ^^

I've just signed up for the Gobbie Bag, and didn't notice the first question. In addition to that - there was already a pre-selected answer. After submitting the form, i wasn't asked to complete the top question (due to the default answer) and now the form has been submitted with the incorrect answer, screwing me out of this event - even though I obviously know the answer. While I don't disclaim all blame, it's harsh.

Can anything be done about this?

im an european importer of the japanese version of the game, so i have a japanese pol account and a japanese s-e account.

im excluded from every kind of event or there is a chance of doing the european?

You're out of luck friend. I used to be in the same boat as you but switched to an EU account a few years back because I saw these kind of problems coming.

Make the switch - you won't regret it.

i cant. because SE decided that if u linked your account to a token (and i did) u cant change the pol account nation.

i never had a problem, i even won a screenshot caption EU and they had no issue with my pol id...just this time they make it unavailable

Yeah, it's a bit weird how they said you can't unlink, however, check this out (unsure if it could be of any help in your case):

I've always had the habit of first checking the playonline . com for news, even after the advent of them forums. I still check it first, and only after that comes this place (which sometimes does have certain info before the EU playonline site, but the point is, contests and other such things should always be announced there, as was this survey (http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11eu/1207/topics_all.html)).

It is unfortunate that they didn't update it properly here. =/

I would lend my rage of assistance over there if I were able to, though I doubt it is needed after yours is done.

All in all, this event was a nice thing for them to do, but for the future record, there's lots to improve, and I do wish they could do it so, that entries are restricted to PlayOnline accounts, instead of one per SqEX account (yes, I do know I'm mentioning this everywhere related to this!).

I wanted the costumes because I collect them 'event-items'. :/

That 'junk' was what I was after for really, since I know I am not lucky enough to win the top prizes, while some get multiple (seems like it was possible to enter any character as the receiver of the prizes, not just ones on one's account, which in my opinion makes it even less fair to not let people with multiple POL accounts within a SqEX account to participate using them, but oh well, I guess there's no use in ranting over that).

Feeling a wee bit left out since the two friends I mostly play with won something as well. Oh well, I'm used to it by now! ^^;

I guess I get a chance to at least try the battlefield out since they won... unless everyone entering needs an orb. That wouldn't surprise me.

As I mentioned in the NA-thread, I hope the future events similar to this will be improved versions, as I don't quite feel everything was right with this one.
