The sneaky and stealthy goblins were able to infiltrate the FINAL FANTASY XI in-game item vaults and pilfer a ton of items right from under our noses... It turns out that it was all for a good cause because they are creating a variety of Golden Gobbiebags packed to the brim with goodies for some lucky adventurers to take home.

We have prepared a special survey based on the events and announcements of VanaFest 2012 to be posted after the event. By filling it out and answering the “Gobbie” question correctly you will be entered into a competition where you could win one of many Golden Gobbiebags, each exploding with a variety of rare in-game items!

How to Participate
Complete the VanaFest survey, answer the “Gobbie” question correctly, and you will be entered into a competition where you could win one of the Golden Gobbiebags below!

Participation Period: Tuesday, June 26, 2012 to Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:59pm (PDT)
New schedule will be announced soon!

Restrictions
Only one entry can be made per Square Enix account.

* Employees of Square Enix, Square Enix, Inc. and Square Enix, Ltd. and their relatives are forbidden from participating in the VanaFest 2012 Giveaway.

You will be ineligible if you do not meet the following requirements:

You must have a FINAL FANTASY XI Content ID.

*Players still in their free trial period will not be able to participate.

Please note that you will lose the right to obtain your prize if any of the following situations occur:

The character name or world name was incorrect at time of application.
The character receiving the prize was deleted.
You select “Return” for the prize delivered from the MHMU.
There are over 128 items in your delivery box.
You already possess the item.
Though thorough testing has been performed, in the case that you possess multiples of the same rare item, authority to claim the prize will be nulled and the item will be deleted.

A few more things:
1) It should also be Tenryu +1.
2) Tier 3 rewards are better than Tier 2 rewards.

Hmm... umbral marrow x5 (85m) or riftdross x60 (18m). When will the devs admit how horribly they screwed up the weapon hierarchy. They said empyreans were supposed to be the hardest to upgrade 95>99, but in "reality," they cost about a fifth of what a relic costs to upgrade to 99. Not even close guys! Golden Gobbiebag II should be changed to 1500 heavy metal plates (150m+).

Tier one and two silly odds aside, kinda sad you can't be sure to win at least one lowest tier item like in the mog bonanza. :/ I guess everyone getting a cosmetic weapon is too game breaking.

Why is Heroines’ Holdfast access being so limited? I know I'll never win a R/M/E or pulse armor and I couldn't care less about ark weapons or that godawful moogle suit, but I would very much like to be able to do the new fight.

At least with the old Mog Bonanza one could guarantee themselves a Rank 5 prize by choosing their numbers properly while more than likely sacrificing a chance at higher tier prizes. Now, most of us will never see the inside of the new battlefield if this is the sole means of orb distribution. That's kinda screwed up IMO.

SE didn't price the items

SE didn't price the items

Yes they did..

Maybe not directly but it they played a role in indirectly influencing it. If you have a world full of greedy people. Then create a supply shortage for a high demand item by limiting the amount dropped while requiring an absurd amount of them the prices of said item will indirectly become more expensive.

Supply = Demand

The whimsical supply isn't capable of meeting the demand of every player doing the upgrade so people place high prices on upgrades. SE set the supply limits and players decided the value based on that supply.

I reject your comment and substitute it with reality.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for pointing out the errors in the original "VanaFest Golden Gobbiebag Giveaway" announcement, they are now fixed.

Athena Orb (http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Athena_Orb) does not have an "'s" in it. Mulcibar's Scoria (http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Mulcibar%27s_Scoria) is not spelled with an "e". Phorcys Dirs (http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Phorcys_Dirs) has an "s" at the end. Thaumas Coat (http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Thaumas_Coat) does not have an "l" at the end.

(I swear I am not trying to be a jerk, these came up when I was linking them to existing items (http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/VanaFest_Golden_Gobbiebag_Giveaway).)

Not their problem for the price, it's clear they are offering the item for the FINAL stage of the weapons. They can't just say, "Oh, here! 95>99 for Relic and 90>95 for emps" that's plain stupid.

Tier one and two silly odds aside, kinda sad you can't be sure to win at least one lowest tier item like in the mog bonanza. :/ I guess everyone getting a cosmetic weapon is too game breaking.
Just to be clear, this isn't a replacement for the Mog Bonanza in-game event. The Golden Gobbiebag Giveaway is the NA/EU alternative event to the Nomad Mog Bonanza being held for Japanese players. Just like the Nomad Mog Bonanza, it's one entry per person, and not the Mog Bonanza style of "buy 10 marbles and cover all your bases in the digits" event.

As we said previously (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/24008-10th-Vana-versary-Mog-Bonanza?p=324603&viewfull=1#post324603), there will not be any more Mog Bonanzas held in the future. Going forward, we'll be deciding how to go about distributing the fun prizes that were included in the lowest tier (things like statues, battlefield orbs, etc.).

Trumpy
06-20-2012, 12:34 PM
there is more Ark weapons than the saber and scythe right? I mean id pick the scythe for procs but why arent the others in there? just curious.

Also add the HMPs AND the riftwhatzits and it prolly is more expensive than the relics upgade items. i dont think they said specifically that one stage would be more than anothers one stage. but that one weapons entire trial run would be in general more expensive harder... like how the starts for some empys are much more difficult then the ends but other empys are reversed. it "balances" out in the end.

Maybe put them on the Daily Reward Goblins as a purchase for 100~300 point item (or significantly higher, but I don't really see one statue or Ark Angel weapon a month as game shattering)?

edit: Players should be able to pick which item also, not two months of points to get a Training Grounds Key and a Martial Ball Invite when you wanted the Ark Scythe and the Odin Statue (rank 4 though =\) .

edit2: While I was thinking about the daily reward goblin (but off topic), maybe add a 100-500 point roll for chance at a cat's eye or an (ex) version of a 10,000 dynamis currency. There are already (ex) copies of several items, including the level one scrolls when you select a mage class to start.

Registeel
06-20-2012, 05:11 PM
Even though I won't win anything to begin with, I wish they would've added an item that would act as an alternative to 1500 Heavy Metal Plates ala Cat's Eye for Alexandrite in Tier II. But since Cat's Eye isn't even on this list to begin with, I guess it would be unbalanced.

Phafi
06-21-2012, 03:15 AM
I like the alternative to HMP, but my thinking it not being in was "It would be another item we have to add... can't be sending 16 slots to someone's delivery box =\" and then people would go all Y U NO ADD 10,000 COIN VERSION OF THIS SO I CAN FINISH RELIC FASTER but that could be fixed in the same manner as the (ex) scrolls when you start the game or empress pin/bounding boots/etc.

My wife and I have our own accounts (plus a third account for a tag along whm) - So we pay for 3 full playonline accounts, but we are under 1 square enix account so we could just use 1 security token instead of having multiple tokens. Does this mean that even though I pay $54 a month (counting mules,) I can only enter the contest with only 1 of our accounts? Seems unfair cause my wife wants the moogle costume and I could use a relic, assuming I get the luck of the Irish going.

2 things came to my mind when I looked at the OP....
1)shouldn't there be a blindingly obvious link to enter this competition?
2)couldn't the mog bonanza still be done without the gil prizes by sending (exclusive) coupons x10 for obtaining marbles to each character on the account? or would that still be classed as in game gambling?

Perhaps this delay has something to do with the ongoing problem with the Festive Moogle and temporary removal of the Dealer Moogle for the same reason.

Indeed; so is the delivery mechanism on the JP side as well. Though directly unrelated, since this event seems to be fashionably related to the 10-year anniversary/Vana Fest palooza, I thought "they" would want to handle things one step at a time.

I realize I'm pulling excuses out of thin air.

I seriously hope it isn't a legal issue.

It gets delayed by 1 day every time someone makes up a word in these forums. The word you were looking for is 'you'.

Randwolf
06-27-2012, 03:23 AM
Guessing there is either a major flaw in the prize program itself or technical difficulties.

And, my third and cynical guess is that the program has been deemed too generous by someone and they are trying to figure a way to reduce the number of prizes or exclude prizes already offered without having it look that way.

~and the next one, too~

The Golden Gobbiebag Giveaway is the alternative event for NA and EU users that are unable to participate in the Nomad Mog Bonanza. There isn't a Japanese version of the GGG, as they have the Nomad Mog Bonanza.

If you still don't see what I mean, that is the fact that they are two completely different things, and thus “they got it, why don't we” makes little sense, no? ^^

I think the real reason for the delay is that the JP devs totally forgot about us. It's nothing new.

Reiterpallasch

They realized that there would be more potential winners for NA/EU than there were for JP at Vana'fest, so they have to recalculate the number of rewards. #conspiracy

I'd like to see ffxi be reworked. But lets face it, SE is not gonna drop ps2 support or fix it up. I mean they JUST expanded the minimum requirement to 19 gb's for the system.

I think by the time they decide to drop support for ps2, ffxiv will be an actual game to be played on and nobody will care for ffxi anyways.

The PS2 version isn't junk, it works great and looks great on an SDTV. I play on my PS2, PS3, 2 Xbox's and 3 PC's and having my PS2 version is a nice option when I wanna Play my PS3 or Xbox games while using Skype on my PC, allowing me to do 3 things at once. Although, if you look on the new expansion packs website, it says at the bottom... Systems Supported: Xbox 360 & PC. There seems to be no PS2 support for the new expansion.

There seems to be no PS2 support for the new expansion.

you know you can run skype and even netflix while playing ffxi

And there wont be, PS2 support is only going to be in Japan. NA and EU wont be getting it on PS2. So lord knows why they upped the PS2 HD limit universally.

Nah. It's been stated it'll be delivered via delivery box. Besides the maintenance is to resolve the listed known issues that couldn't be resolved from the lastest version update.

(but a gobbiebag npc would be nice lol)

Sorry to side track, but that maint last night, didnt sort out the Aura Weapon Delivery problem, my SAM is now stuck with my Soboro... as I cant get my Glowing Muramassa off my weapon storage mule... /cry

Ports are horrible. The one to XBOX 360 was so lazily done it took years to fix such a simple glitch as crashing in Besieged, and when they finally did Besieged was dead anyway.

Maybe there hoping we forget but I would sure like to have that kool Moogle costume I see all the Japanese wearing. Americans and Europeans do play this game as well Square Enix we want the kool stuff. We pay are monthly FFXI bill just like everyone else. Any info would be appreciated cause atm seems like NA/EU are getting screwed with no appreciation for its other players..

there isn't any new info at this time. although from actually "reading" instead of complaining like everyone else has been, it is going to be a whole new type of event and they are currently working out a problem that has occurred. great things do not happen over night n i think everyone just needs to give SE some credit. they are working hard to get this NEW event up and ready for us.

It is 5000 NA / 500 EU (check both announcements). The rules says prizes are given on a region basis, so it makes sense to scale it for EU/NA :)

Selected winners will have their items automatically sent to the character listed during sign up.
The “Golden Gobbiebag I” winner will be selected from a combination of North America and Europe participants. All other winners will be selected by region.

Only the big prize is shared :)

Players that attended the live Vanafest and completed the quest events they had running for it.

Rest of us have to wait for the survey deal to be done up, which hopefully won't be too much longer, as I'm sure I'm not the only one who's memory of the streams is getting kinda foggy as time goes on. Hopefully there's a link to the English stream floating around on Youtube somewhere, as I've only found the JP stream saved so far.

ok i like to point out, the info on the expansion is brand new and that just because sales of ps2 games are kinda obsolete does not mean SE doesn't have a plan not to support it on the ps2. I for 1 think its doubtful they will HAVE a physical dvd expansion for the ps2, but I believe there will be a 1-time registration code just like the add-ons and it will be downloadable. You can completely install FFXI w/o the game disks expansions of CoP, ToAU, and WotG, but it will take a longer amount of time to download the version updates. all the game disks do is cut the time down to download the files. SE would not expand the minimum requirements of the ps2 unless they had plans of future expansions or fixing bugs they could not fix due to limited space.

It's possible that they realized that 1 prize attempt per square-enix account does not mean 1 prize attempt per player, or are my wife and I the only people who have more than one POL id on a square-enix account?

No. You're not the only one. My husband and I did it too.. .pretty much as soon as they came out with SE Accounts and before realizing what it would have meant for the future as far as having both POL ID's on one SE account. We get screwed every time with one of this events as we have to literally take turns to see who might win a prize. Would be nice if they undid the undo-able and allowed me to switch my POL ID to the SE Account I made to play FFXIV (back when it was free).

Of course they had to increase the hdd space on ps2 everywhere because even without the expansion the game will be getting updated regardless. If you don't install an expansion pack you can still see ninjas and scholars running around wearing gear from other expansions areas and stuff. They have to add all that data to the game thats why everytime there has been an expansion they have a huge update and day long maint a few days before it goes live. The ps2 players will still be able to play the same game and see the same things they just won't be able to access the new areas or anything that requires going there.

All i was saying is just because theres no announcement now for na/eu players to not have an expansion on ps2, does not mean there will not be an announcement ever. They may announce down the line in the future before the release. And if not, its SE's loss on money. I was not trying to be angry about it.

Greetings,

I’d like to take a moment to clarify which platform Seekers of Adoulin will be available on for those that have been asking. We will continue to support North American FINAL FANTASY XI players on the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PC (Windows) platforms. However, FINAL FANTASY XI: Seekers of Adoulin will only be available on the Xbox 360 and Windows platforms in North America when it is released in 2013.

My point is withdrawn with the exception of the fact they lost money on ps2 users and theres always the possibility they can change their mind (tho very doubtful). Oh well, I'm a PC user. But its very disappointing to see every1 who is a ps2 user and still couldnt afford a pc thats compatible to play ffxi get screwed.

I have no problems with this. Last thing anyone needs is to win a top prize only to find out the system doesn't work. Player: "Yay I won myself a 90 Ragnarok!" System: "We're sorry for any inconvenience caused by this emergency maintenance, but all records of winners has suddenly been lost."

I'm logical, big difference.

Prize 1 I can guarantee not getting, the others however are possible to get depending on the R.N.G, as such I'd potentially take a space as a winner and would be unable to obtain it. Not just blocking someone else, but also blocking myself.

Ok, after almost 2 hours I just figured it out after posting that. In case anyone else has this problem, here's the solution. Apparently, only the login page for that contest is not compatible with the newest version on IE. If your using IE, when you reach the login page you need to click on the image that looks like a broken page up in the address bar. When you mouse over it, it should say compatibility view ( and something about clicking it to make older??? webpages display correctly.) Once I clicked that, the page reloaded and login in worked. It was a pain to figure out, so hopefully this will help others with the same issue.

Disabled adblock and tried again using my default browser (chrome) and no luck. Tried a fresh Firefox install with no adblockers inside a VM and got the same blank template page. I'm not willing to try with IE, even inside a VM.

I've disabled all adblockers, done fresh browser installs, nuked cookie caches. When I click the contest entry link it brings me to an SE login page (even if I have secure.square-enix.com cookies set having already been logged in) and after logging in AGAIN, I get to this page:

https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/login?ret=https%3A%2F%2Fsecure.square-enix.com%2Fenqt%2Fe%2FNMB2012NA%2Fhtml&cont=enqform

Which is just a blank SE template.

If I swap out the escape characters in the URL and go directly to after successfully logging in:

https://secure.square-enix.com/enqt/e/NMB2012NA/html

Then it sends me back to the same SE account login page. Obviously I'm logging in just fine to my SE account if I'm keeping my Crysta up-to-date and posting to this forum.... So... what gives?

Greetings,

Sorry for the confusion surrounding the text stating that there will be a confirmation email sent out upon entry, but that is actually not the case. So don't fret if you have not received a confirmation email as we are not actually sending any out for the Golden Gobbiebag Giveaway!

As others have said, if you're getting a "Region is different" error, make sure you're entering the giveaway via the correct link that matches the region of your Square Enix account - http://sqex.to/mxZ (NA) http://sqex.to/3cs (EU)

FWIW, I'm still receiving the blank page. I've spent time on webchat with support and I've filed a website bug on these forums. I've tried different browsers, OS's, and ISP's and still getting the blank page when logging in to the Gobbiebag Giveaway URL (not a region error). I did manage to find an error in the Javascript on that page (more detail in the bug report).

It strikes me as odd that I'm the only one reporting this error and it makes me worried that there are only 2 days left in the contest... I'm not sure that's enough time for the engineers to find and fix the problem.

It does feel a bit silly that they restrict entries for one per SqEX Account, instead of POL Account, I think.

Many will likely have multiple SqEX Accounts, while others have linked their multiple POL Accounts to the same one for convenience, and for that, they get sort of left out a bit.

They still pay a full price and all that stuff~ =/

After the 27th of July, it seems. This is based off the recent Heroine's Holdfast announcement, where they invited us to try out the event on the 20th or 27th on the test server with them "before the athena orbs will be delivered on the real servers" or something. Those orbs are part of the rewards from this event, so the delivery date is probably after the 27th and certainly after the 20th.

My husband was completely screwed out of this contest, so unfair. He has been playing this game since the USA release and since we linked our POL accounts into 1 SE account so we can use just 1 security token, he decided to be a gentleman and step aside to let me enter so I can potentially get a moogle outfit. So wrong, he wants a fair shot like everyone else but cant because we decided to share a security token...

Square, that is INCREDIBLY unfair and you should seriously look into having rules that don't alienate paying members. Together we pay $54 a month to play this game, over $600 a year and this is the thanks we get...

I wouldn't risk it. That's how I lost my JP account. I un-linked it per the instructions from the rep at SE, so that I could link it to my NA account and not have to use webmoney any more.

The account did not un-link correctly and No one at SE will fix it. When it comes to FFXI, I would never make a change to your account unless you have to. Terrible is not a strong enough word when it comes to support at this company.

As mentioned, they're against account sharing (a violation of the User Agreement actually), so it's not really surprising it's like that.

Even so, I would hope for future events that they would restrict it to 'PlayOnline' accounts rather than SqEX accounts, because many players have more than one POL account linked into one SqEX account for convenience. For what reason are punished for it like this? They pay the full price and all... except for a plausible additional Security Token purchase. That must be it! >.>;

Account credentials are not to be shared, but this does hurt something that is legitimate just as well (as oh so many rules do, sadly).

In layman's terms: It sucks.

Nevertheless, I do appreciate the event, I'm not saying that it's all bad!
So thank you for making it possible in the first place ! !! !

Could of course be better in the future. ~wink~

I did notice someone in an Ark Angel costume the other day, so it's likely that they're indeed already at it (for the Japanese, probably).

Nope, actually it's not possible. Tried it. I'm in the same situation as Apie. The only exception is with accounts linked to the wrong region, and as FrankReynolds said, they couldn't even do that correctly.

Best you can do Apie is to complain about it to SE reps and hope that enough others are doing so that they'll change the policy. Edit: Oh, and by that I don't mean to submit the complaint via the forums, but through the support center.

As for unlinking, it should be possible no matter what, according to KB Article: 12835 (http://support.eu.square-enix.com/faqarticle.php?kid=12835&id=455&la=2&ret=faq&pv=10&page=0&c=0&sc=0&so=4&q=unlink) at the EU Support Centre:

If you wish to unlink your PlayOnline ID from a Square Enix account, please click on "Additional Assistance" below to contact the SQUARE ENIX Support Centre prior to starting the transfer process. It is possible for your account to be unlinked, which would allow for you to choose a new Square Enix account to transfer to.

If you have already completed the transfer process and wish to transfer to a different Square Enix account, the procedure may take several days to complete. Please click on "Additional Assistance" below to contact the SQUARE ENIX Support Centre for additional details.

It's not the first time I find inconsistent articles there, it's a mess, though I am unsure if there really is such a difference between regions in this case... At this point, I would even be surprised.

That first article is the one that I first read. I then contacted them and was told to just "Un-link it, and re-link to my NA account."

This is not the case. You have to contact SE support to complete the un-link process after you un-link via the website, before you can re-link. The problem being that apparently JP support just keeps ignoring my requests and directing me back to NA support, who says that they can't complete the un-linking of a JP account.

I'm like "Please... just take my money... Please... I... I want.. to give you my money..."

It's not like Japan can just influence NA and EU to drop them or have them not apply to virtual items. It does in our countries and the nature of both events just are what they are.

Technically in the bonanza there is a chance no one might win the first prize.

Jus sayin, they could have implemented something similar across all regions. It's true that there is a chance no one would win in Japan, but the chance of either NA or EU being completely snubbed by golden gobbiebag is 100%.

They'll probably come up with something better for next year. That's being optimistic but they have to be careful with the gambling law or they can get a lawsuit; which makes giving out prizes on a widescale being a problem without it being a lottery.

It's probably not very hard to hack an account that doesn't have a token on it, when most dummies use the character name as the log in. That security token is probably the only reason that people aren't constantly hacked these days.

To be fair, every contest in the US has a small disclaimer noting you can write in requesting a list of winners. Not sure if it's something they have to provide legally, though from every contest I've ever seen offering it, I would assume so. Kinda like the "No purchase needed to win!" disclaimer on the bottom of all contests as well, which I know is indeed a legal matter, which I could have sworn I seen on the bottom of this Giveaway when I skimmed over it like a couple of weeks ago. Not a lawyer or familiar with it all, so I can't really say on it, and couldn't find a reason on Google either to the above.

I'm personally curious as to how they'll be picking the winners, as in times past, they always were happy to say that they were drawing the numbers and had it recorded for strict legal reasons, this time, the Moogles are being extra hush hush and secrative as to how they're doing it. A giant box with names on it? Wacky wheel of winner names they spin? Hit a button and randomly generate player names on a PC program? WILD AND WOOLY OFFICE PARTY TO DETERMINE THE WINNERS!?!

I kid, I kid. Just alot of free time is causing me to wonder how the good people of SE are going to pick a single person for Rank 1 this time between US and EU regions, and how they'll be pick separate winners for R2 and up, while being fair and unbiased. If anyone has the answer to that one, I'd love to honestly hear it, though it's kinda fun to just randomly come up with ideas for how they're gonna do it.

Skipping past the ease of it, the point is still there is people out there who do aim to hack people's accounts simply to drop items they themselves are too lazy to get so assume people shouldn't have them either. It's just easier all round to not print names.

Understandable that they won't release names, but it would still be nice to see a list of how many of each prize was picked per rank.

Totally agree! I tried to look for one on the JP site, but I don't speak Japanese so I didn't really get anywhere... But would really love to see a pie chart or something once prizes are out! Definitely want to be able to lol if Rank 1 picked Kannagi.

Picked Ryunohige, Umbral Marrow, Khepri Jacket myself.

Wondering where that announcement is. With 2 days left in the month we should either have a date or at least a delay report from devs.

They'll announce:

the "system" accidentally lost all entries. We will no longer be doing this event, we'll be doing a new "such-and-such" event so we can allow the Japanese ANOTHER event to win on while blocking NA and EU from winning.

Regrettably, the only question anymore is, what excuse will be used this time. How about if SE just comes clean and says they just have no clue how to do this? Have they decided not to bother and hope we just forget? I dont think most have forgotten, they have just decided it just isnt going to happen.
I would like to be proven wrong but seriously.

It'll happen when it happens. Really, considering it took less than 5 minutes to qualify for this thing in the first place...who cares how long it takes? Free is free, and you should be happy we're getting this chance at all.

I'll sit on my hands and wait. Cause really, what else can you do?

Rephrased to: It will happen IF it happens.
I wonder sometimes what it look like at SE when something like this happens. Do they go into sweat mode or do they look up from their computer and say, "huh? What are you referring to?"
I picture a lone person working off by himself sorting all the names by hand and cutting up little pieces of paper to put in a jar to eventually shake and pull out names. Then having to enter the names into a database to sort and send prizes off to the winners.

Probably speak for the majority, but I know that it was delayed a few weeks, but still having heard NOTHING from SE, whether its the community team, Devs, or anything to that point about either a delay, cancellation, and them still staying 'firm' on their "In July" timetable, they only got about 22 hours (if you go by Japan Time) to fulfill their promise of the "In July" timetable. Vana'Fest happened in June, and yes I can understand the delays with the NPCs, but it still shouldn't take a whole month from the post-announcement of the survey and the JP Community getting their hands on everything first (at the envy of everyone else). If SE is seriously waiting on the new month and the subscription fees from the people in the NA and Europe regions, I'd be quite irritated. At least TELL US SOMETHING whether its delayed, cancelled or what not. Thanks...

It's not canceled. It's coming and will be here eventually. If they said end of the month, then lets at least wait until August to be angry with them.

I don't want to be screwed out of potential prizes especially if they send them tomorrow... Can't reactivate until the first (that's when I get paid...). So yeah...

I took a trip today to try to get to the source of the problem. I'm assuming it's the goblin's fault. They can be so greedy. After less then helpful service in Jeuno I went to the field to ask for about this matter...

Sadly I didn't get much information from them. Guess I should have asked a question before shooting.

I guess they're having a problem catching up with the North American Goblins. I have a feeling my issue will be Chris'. I won't get a check until the 3rd. And feel like they'll finally send them out on a date where I'm deactivated.

Ok, say you were entered in the contest and it just so happened you didn't get paid on XXXX day and they did the drawing on YYYY day and your account wasn't active. Wouldn't you be a little irritated?

Pretty certain I saw something in the rules that said an inactive account would not get a prize.

Yeah I know, it was active when the survey took place, and may (or not) be active when they distribute the prizes.

EDIT:
why would u be irritated i mean u only get payed once a month? how is poor planning on your part there fault?

If only SE pay periods were 31 days instead of 30. You would think with 7 months out of the year being 31 days (yes I know February being 28 days conteracts this) that they would do 31 day pay-to-play periods. Screw round #s!

It's their fault because I have scrounged to pay my account dues during the month they specified but then might get screwed out of it because they can't keep a timetable.

Giving Japan cool items and gear for free while promising us the same but not delivering isn't screwing us over? Wow you must have been your mothers pride... But seriously its not right.

If they had kept to their own timetable the pay period would never have been an issue. As it is many people, who normally have no issue with having the account off line for a few hours while their earnings hit the bank, are now in danger of losing out on any prize.
Normally I like having the account canceled for a few hours. It enables me to NOT reenact a few mules til later in the month. IF we had known we needed the account to stay open we could have planned accordingly.

so u gonna cry they screwed u over if u don't win anything? i personally would like to win rank 1. but....
i also realize i most likely won't get any rank. i've never won a moogle bonanza should i cry out foul?

No one is bothered about not winning, the issue is that they stated the prizes would be rewarded in July, which has basically gone by, even the start date was wrong.

Yet, the same event was done in Japan on time and the prizes have already been distributed. So the question is: Why could it be done efficiently and on time in Japan, but NOT in English speaking countries?

Actually it is not feeling like we are 'screwed' over. It is more like, in the unlikely event that I will actually win this, should I wait til after prizes are given, or go ahead and work on it.

I thought that because I had asked for Heka's from the Gobbiebag that by doing Akvan I would get the body to make my entry useless. Because that's normally how the world works; but VW monsters still don't want to put out even if it might make you look stupid so I would continue to fight in alliances despite applying for the item in GGG.

If I don't win anything I don't, but throwing away the game after everyone has entered without giving a chance to win or even a reason or hell even aknowledgeing there's a problem buggs the Heck out of me.
