I haven't won anything but people who have two, three or even more mules and won on every account (it could happen) have every right to, they pay their sub fees like everyone else. Sure, it means 1 person would have won a larger number of items than anyone else but they are also paying more than those of us with a single account.

The fact is that this was a random entry process w/ define numbers of random items available yet ppl are whining that everyone didn't get a prize. But the scythe has more use than the costume feature. The only thing I was looking forward to was the scythe and if I had won something bigger, that's awesome. But there is much disappointment of falling within the minority of losers. I'm very happy for the winners, don't get me wrong. But it's extremely disappointing to not even receive weapon. Had this played out like the old bonanza, I would have set up my marbles to win the bottom tier to get a scythe.

But besides that, I think had there been more losers than winners it wouldn't feel as disappointing. Odds of winning are (I estimate) 8:1 so the odds are in favour of a person not winning, I'm also EU so we didn't have over 6k prizes, we had just over 600 but the odds of my winning were also 8:1. Still, I could always win the real lottery tonight, the odds are only 116 million to 1 (though if I buy two tickets my odds drop to 58 million to 1! I'd need to buy 116,531,800 tickets to guarantee the win, which is less than the prize fund.... hrm.... )

This contest only allowed one entry per linked SE account. Anyone who has a security token, which is most of us, couldn't enter multiple times even with 100 mules. Honestly, I prefer this method over every character getting a chance. Unlike the real lottery, the odds are much more stacked towards those with mules since there are way less people entering.

I did not go into the giveaway expecting anything. I would have been happy receiving rank 5 vanity items, but I was one of many who didn't receive anything. It is still disappointing knowing this was likely the only chance to get the Mog Suit for a long time, if not the only chance.

Its like SE decided to throw a party for the 10th anniversary of FFXI.
-Invites everyone to come, but only have party hats for a small portion of guests and party favors for an even smaller portion.
-Everyone who RSVP'd is entered into a drawing to receive a party hat/favors.

Sure you are entitled to winning multiple times with multiple accounts trying to get some cool gear. We are still disappointed standing around everyone else with party hats on, especially when there are people with 3-4 hats on complaining that they didn't get something better or asking people how good they look in multiple hats.

When they decide how many prizes to issue, they base it on the number of characters who can enter. Those mules made it possible or the prize to exist in the first place. They paid for them and they are entitled to a prize. I know that you think it's a waste, but the person who got it clearly wanted it just as much as you did.

This isn't really about how much someone pays so much as it is their setup. Clearly they wanted to limit it to one vote per person by restricting it to SE IDs.

I think this warrants a phone call to remove my alt account from my Square-Enix ID and give it its own SE ID. Since apparently doing so gives me less of a chance at winning things like this that may be held in the future.

I'm more so concerned with additional chances to receive the vanity items as that was all I had really looked forward to with the Gobbiebag Giveaway. I was very happy to see the Mog Suit become available to NAs and EUs through our awesome Community Representatives and their hard work organizing events. It worries me that this may have been our only chance to obtain the suit similar to the other mog items from previous events.

My question to Camate and the Community Reps would now be: Will we ever see another opportunity to obtain the suit through events in game or community run events similar to the ones held on the test server? I'm sure the Ark Angel weapons will surface again, but the Mog Suit has me worried.

Aww, that just makes me feel it was even more unfair to not let me participate with my second account. I think that it certainly should not have been possible for people to enter any character name to receive the prize(s). Not with such limited amount of them available at least.

Indeed, I have been thinking the same after this slap-to-the-face, where people who opted for one SqEX account due to convenience are being left out. But as FrankReynolds also mentioned, it does look like one perilous path to take...

Imagine the frustration of those who pay for multiple accounts, but they are linked to one SqEX account, meaning they can not participate with those additional accounts even though they pay the full price!

If anything, they should not have allowed users to enter character names outside their account, which led to single characters getting multiple prizes. They should have not allowed that, but allowed every POL account to participate, instead of every SqEX account.

Allowing people to select any character to receive the prize(s) pretty much defeats the purpose of limiting participants to one POL account per SqEX account, which I guess has to do with 'how many players there are', which seems to be how they calculated the amount of prizes.

What we can learn from this story is: Don't use a single SqEX account even if it is convenient.

several years later and a huge necro bump.... i really thought i'd never see the day when SE decided to drop ps2 support when i posted this lol ... but i was pretty much right. ffxiv is now an actual game to play on....and alot of ppl quit ffxi for it or other games lol
