Where's 10th Anniversary Merchandise for NA/EU?

As nice as it would be to show off a new in-game event item, I don't really care about that as much as I do about the actual book! Just like the latest soundtrack they released, this is something I can see myself buying regardless of whichever in-game gimmick they decide to release alongside it.

That being said, I am not going to pay the ~$80(including shipping) that Play-Asia is asking for the book because I'm also not retarded.

I don't know why SE insists on alienating its NA player-base. They know they'll sell out if they sell it states-side, just like everything else they release here(even if the only reason some players will buy it is because it comes with an in-game item).

Well... $80 is ridiculous considering it costs 3000 yen, which google says is ~$38, and I think $38 is high enough as it is(even though I would still buy it).

and yes, the soundtrack was available for pre-order by US customers. I was one of the people who bought it, and I don't regret my decision a bit. I like every single song on the disc (well... the FFXI part, the POL stuff is meh), and I listen to it regularly.

That's the play-asia price for it. If you go directly to the official Square-Enix link provided by Fusionx, it says 3,000円（税込) , which, according to Google, is the equivalent of $37.9170 US dollars. Play-Asia is asking for $16 more in addition to the $20 minimum that is needed to pay for shipping.

That comes out to be $36 more than what a person in Japan would be paying for, which is why SE needs to release this in the US (and EU).

Did anyone else notice the front cover of the book seems to display brand new continents? On one of the smaller continents near the middle, you can see a giant structure, which kind of resembles the giant mushroom as seen in the picture from one of the new zones hidden in the test server dats:

I've had the mind-set that they do have something in store. Be it for the final stretch (most probable), or just to keep us hanging. They will do something, fer sure, and there's really no point to neither get excited nor be cynical about it at this point!

People have been saying that ever since WotG came out. The game's gonna last way more than a year, if you ask me. But no, there have been no announcements or even hints made by the devs that FFXI is closing down anytime in the foreseeable future.

Only time will tell, I'd wager, but if I really had to guess, I'd say it will go on for longer. It's all up to SqEX, though they will say that they'll keep it going as long as people keep playing, but it's obviously up to them to keep people interested, and it would make no sense if they didn't do something more with it.

Then again, I wouldn't be surprised. ^^;


I think I'll pass on the soundtrack, if it will be available (will probably consider it if it has an in-game item, ha). The previous soundtrack I got was quite a disappointment in that the box-art etc. seems a bit lazy. Then again, that seems to be how things are in this day and age of digital media. :S

Which two? The only ones I can think of is Provenance Watcher, and maybe "A Realm of Emptiness"(It was released, but only as part of a special boxset of all the FFXI Albums.)

But I don't think I'll buy the album, because I already have all of the songs on it! Either way, it's disappointing that it's not even available as an option to us. The release date isn't announced on the JP site, so maybe there's still hope for us, but with the way things are going, I doubt it.

I was pretty bummed to see that on the US store, several of the items from Vanafest were listed, but are now all... sold out? Have they simply been listed there and aren't available for order? Or did these actually go up on the site without any official announcement (and very limited stock)?
