Yes, you can waste time on the forums. :D Compete for the most posts and talk about all your FFXI fantasies. ^^

By the way Helbafx, you're from Quetz server right? If you are then I know you!

I'm betting they will be down exactly one month.

I am going to say that in mid April they will be able to power the Servers back up, but at that same time they are going to have difficulties with the FFXI Servers themselves & be another delay while they are trying to figure out why the "dirty" power messed them up. ( they may want to get more people on their FFXIV servers,, and this would be a good excuse!!)

Just a thought, I would prefer to see hydro restored to Japan by beginning of April & we can play again but .....

I try not to worry about such things. The game will return when SE gets the green flag. If I had to take a guess how long, 3 months.

4-6 weeks.

I would wager that it's going to depend on the power situation. Until the country is no longer subject to rolling blackouts to conserve power, it is unlikely that the servers will go up.

Given their comments on the pushback of the version update, I'm inclined to think we're not going to see the game up and running until the middle or end of April - at absolute best. If this situation in Fukushima continues to worsen, or the wind shifts southwards... it could very easily be longer.

Now it's possible that we'll see the servers come back sooner than that, but I remain doubtful.

hopefully shortly after they stop the rolling blackouts they will get the green light. Some things in the works that may make that situation a little better in the next couple days... just hang in there. Maybe we'll hear from SE this weekend or Monday morning.

I would say the servers are going to be down at least another week.

This month should be officially dubbed "March Madness".

...or has it been used already I'm not sure.

On TEPCO's site they say the rolling blackouts will be happening until atleast the end of April^^

true.. but not putting a lot of stock in TEPCO's pressers lately...just gotta wait it out and see what happens. I would hazard a guess that if it does indeed resort to that long, SE will put a different plan in action somehow. At least, I HOPE....

I would guess no less then 2 weeks to almost a month, depending on the status of Japan later in the month.

well they could rationing power to ease the stress on their damaged grid. the rolling blackouts could also be used to repair parts of the grid.
if its strict rationing then who knows.

however, if SE is conserving power by choice, which it looks like, they can turn the servers on until their designated black out time comes. when we had rolling black outs over here in california, things were rather normal until the black out came for 1-4hrs at designated times.

Betting on forever.

If the block was isolated, that could work. But every block that is getting blackouts has a portion of Tokyo in it, as well as surrounding wards. Even if the servers are up, a node could be down preventing access to the internet. Too many variables at play to guarantee stability I guess.
