Funniest In Game Moment- Go!

For me was about a month in, and I had just made it to the Dunes outpost, and someone we were questing with was a Hume warrior we nicknames pants because he didn't wear any.

Anyway someone sent him some so he went back to Selbina to change, and when he got back to the outpost there were about twenty people there, all races/genders, every single one of them repeatedly clapping at him while he showed off his new pants. :)

By far the funniest time was in garleige citadel. I was having a very clumsy day as whm. The candy drops had just come out and I had just gotten my tele spells.
First off I had put warp on a macro. Dont do it. So I hit cure, I thought, and warped out.
Second we got a link and were dying. Someone yelled tele us out! So, being a new teleporter, I innocently hit the tele spell and tele'd out the whole back line leaving the dd's and tanks to fend for themselves.
Third. Well we were all back in the citadel pulled back together and fighting. Our blm decided he was curious about the candy drops. Thinking they would change his stats he ate one. And promptly warped himself out.
We had some sense of humor in the party by that point and everyone was just dying laughing. It is by far the funniest time I ever had in the game. It is still hard to believe it all happened in one party in probably about 30 minutes total. lol.

One time we had a lolibri party go on for hours, eventually every one got pretty tired especially the THF because he SATA'd our poor RNG and almost got him killed quite a few times. We all laughed at him, actually one of the only times I've Seen someone SATA someone they shouldn't and not get bitched out for it. ;D

I don't know how many times I got raised > immediately died to aoe, but it was hilarious. I think I only managed to stay alive after the fight was over.

a few people in my LS and including me got charmed by Rani and unleashed all kinds of hell on the poor Dominion Ops XPers in the area that were minding their own business. I felt pretty bad about it but at the same time lol'd hard, I raised them after I got uncharmed. ;P

About 6 months into playing ffxi, a new high level friend wants to help me, my brother and sister in law (and a few others) attain rank 5 for our airship passes. I’m a blm and just got my warp 2 scroll. Awesome. So to speed up the process I am to warp everyone back to jeuno from beaduex (the 2 nm drops that you trade in to the taru) so they could choco back. My brother gets the first 2 drops and asks me to warp him out. I begin casting warp 2 on him. I end up in jeuno. Why? Ill let you figure that out =p

I think the one that stands out is one time in Dynamis - Windurst, we(the BLMs) were getting to time nuke the boss dead, so I started buffing up. I hit what I thought was my stoneskin macro, but it turns out that I accidentally hit my sleepga macro, while targeting the boss lol. I couldn't interrupt in time because I wasn't paying attention - I ended up MPKing the whole LS. Good times. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard on FFXI xD

The earliest one I can remember is the earliest one I had: being a newb.

I remember I shouted for help in Windurst about a half hour after first logging in, because I couldn't (coughbebotheredcough) figure out how to do basic things immediately (hey, I was excited to play!). Soon after I encountered and got to know what would be my first LS and small group of friends, and the leader helped me learn how to fight (and things like the fact that I didn't need to buy fifty potions/ethers or run back to the mog house every time I needed to heal myself).

One of the members, while I was fighting a bee and the leader was trying to explain to me that "running around it in circles doesn't increase your evasion...", used the emote text to type "/emote steals 342 gil from <t>!"

I flipped out in surprise and curiosity and asked her how she did it so easily (without me initiating any sort of reaction!), asking her to teach me how to do it too. I also kindly asked her to return the gil, hahahaha.

decided to get back to leveling drk went to the ah and got gear for the pieces i was missing including a weapon for the level i wasi remeber thinkling right dont die and delevel or you will end up having to beat things to death with your warp stick, anyway went out to beuc and started doing FoV went down the ramp spotted a tiger and started killing it bout half way through fighting i get agro from an airhman oh damn.. killed the tiger and got to work on the eye mad it through the fight with around 100 hp left wow that was too close right need to rest so i click R3 to rest..... "a monster appears out of no where" i just sat there gobsmacked as the VNM id just poped finished me off in 1 shot of all the place's in the zone i could pick to heal i managed to pick the exact spot the vnm was on i swear to god im sure iv pissed off a GM some time and they like playing with me lol


and carrying on the theme of accidental tele/warps MT. zylom party im blm im throwing in the odd cure here and there just to help out iv always done all of my cures from the magic menu (dont start its my way and it works for me) a couple of quick clicks of the menu button and i have a cure ready to go, anyway our tank has to leave and asks me for a D2 so i D2 him we find a replacement pld and he walks all the way out to us and the party gets going again, couple of mobs in the pld takes an incinerate to the face and almost dies so im mashing my menu button to throw out a quick cure 3 on him forgeting that i hadnt moved the pointer back up to my cure spells away from the last spell i had cast.... PLd "um why am i in WG?" party went all out and killed the crawler before any died, thankfuly the party saw the funny side to it including the poor pld who had to walk out to mount zylom all over again

Back on Seraph when they first introduced the /dance commands, a bunch of people were gathered in Tavnazian Safehold dancing away. In the middle of the dance-off, two GM's appeared out of no where and joined in for a bit. When word caught hold of the dancing GMs, the Safehold population grew fast xD It was really really funny xD

i think this was a bug that was fixed.
Often, at least in the PS2 version of the game, a character would walk with their backs at a 90 degree angle to their pelvis. I'm thinking lag caused it, i dont really know.

I know this happened a couple times on account of getting hit by a very hard physical AoE, for example Serket's Earthbreaker on lower levels.
but it would also happen sometimes after getting raised.

Watching someone claim Heqet, shortly after scars release, and purposefully disengaged to force it to go unclaimed in hopes the people around would claim and kill it so that they would still receive the KI. Claimed the heqet, proc'd red on it, brought it down to 20% then CFH'd it and killed it.

I just finished turning in a trial with a friend. He was still turning in the trial while i picked up an Instant Warp Scroll from the NPC. After picking up the scroll I started casting "Teleport-Mea" @ the NPC. Just before i finished casting the spell I seen my friend (who was still in pty with me) come running around the corner. I said "Watch Out!" and just as I said that my friend ran into range and teleported with me. I couldn't stop laughing.. I don't know why it was soo hilarious but it just tickled my funny bone for some reason. =p

Back when my friend and I first started(long before FoV and level sync was introduced), after learning basic controls we ran out into East Sarutabaruta hoping to fight stuff. After gaining a few levels we attempted to fight our first yagudo which we beat but my friend was poisoned. Neither of us was a Whm so we ran as fast as we could back to the mog house in windurst woods, my friend died of poison by the fountain and a bunch of people walked over and stared at him and then started poking his body. I found it funny because a galka was getting poked by a bunch of taru's.

Back in my early BST days, we used to constantly have our camps overtaken by parties. Parties had no respect for BST back then, so for a party to come in and try to take your camp was very common. Well, once, in the Boyahda Tree, a party tried to move in on my Mourioche camp. They camped basically right on top of me where I was fighting... and despite my pleas and protests, they refused to give me the benefit of having been there for over an hour before they showed up.

So, I did what any self respecting BST of that era would have done... Fought rabbits right on top of them and watch as Whirl Claws destroyed them. When that wasn't enough, i'd fight a Mourioche on top of them and watch Dream Flower sleep their whole party (except the poor bastid who was getting hit).

Another time, just after BLU AF was released, I was solo'ing Soulflayers on BST to get mats for my own BLU's AF (and raise gil as robes were going for nearly a mil), when, once again... a party shows up and camps right on top of me. I was Arrapago Reef at the time, and was using DC Crabs and a VT Kraken to kill the flayers. Well, once the party saw that I was able to solo the Flayers as fast, if not faster than them, they began to kill off my pets. I needed like 3 crabs to take a Soulflayer down, or the 1 Kraken... and they decided to kill my pets off AS I was fighting a Soulflayer. I survived, barely, and once the GM told me it was nothing he could do, I decided to help the party out. They wanted crabs... they're about to get crabs.

I brought them all the crabs they could handle (crabs link down there, and this was before the mob despawn patch). The Ninja would grab one of my crabs, and i'd bring him 3 more... they wanted crabs after all, and I was more than happy to help. After they barely survived a few 'encounters' with my former pets, they decided to call a GM... who as we all know, do absolutely nothing when it comes to situations like this. I felt redeemed.

ANOTHER funny incident, was a time when our linkshell leader, Mhoram, accidentally teleported the Tank/healing party in the middle of a Bomb Queen Run. We're knee deep in like our 4th BQ pop, when suddenly half the party is in Lathiene!!! 0_o

Taru being chased, is funny regardless of what is in pursuit. Behemoth chasing a taru, is quite a sight. Same goes for as big as Trolls or bigger in general.

I miss rolanberry fields as the main bazaar place before they added despawn would send gobs kill all those low levels and majority of them did not have jeuno as HP so when timer was up they was back at starter town.

Funniest Moment would have to go to: Relan "not sure if you still play bud lol" We we're partying up in Qufim Island, Wasn't a full party 3or4 happened along time ago around US release, We moved camp away from the tower, Cause it was packed! "I know right Qufim Island packed? What am I smoking" Anyways Relan was puller. We setup camp @ those bats in the cave just left of the tower xp and everything was going fine.

Until Relan pulled a little to many. He had the whole cave on his @$$. We didn't know where to run just kept on running deeper w/in the cave. "Which the running in the cave felt like a long time" Relan said guys just forget it, Let me die, So he give up and died we all caught up to his dead body once we raised him,

ZM mission 16... lvl 75 cap... we kill the 'big' brother fairly easily but we're sitting there recovering a little bit when the little brother (2nd half of the battle) comes over and starts killing us, we get him down to 75% before he wipes us. So we're all sitting there like "shit what are we gonna do?" "Should we try again?" "Nah i have to go to bed" etc, whole time the mob is floating back to his start point. All of the sudden we all 'stand up' and put our weapons away, no message or anything, i'm thinking we got booted due to the 3 min pt death penalty lol. Then after the loading screen I get a cs. "HUH? anyone else getting a cs?" "yeah i am" "wth?" Our whole pt died... but disserseverment killed the mob in less then 3 mins from 75%! GO GO BLUE MAGE DOT! Easily the funniest moment..... this could be tied by the recent abyssea run in which i died 25 times to isegebind within 20 mins (atma of the apocolypse ftw) i was on whm.

I was sitting on the Teleport platform in La Theine Plateau and there was a party being formed.

It took some time and they were chatting in /SAY mode and they were getting impatient on the last few people to show up.

They got the party together and a few of them got on their chocobos when one of them stopped.
The black mage of the party goes, "Wait I want to use a new scroll I got!"

He disappears and everyone starts shouting and swearing.

I was resting up at the OP at Eastern Altepa Desert and I noticed a DRG fighting a goblin.
I put the cursor on the DRG and notice he was about to die.

I got up and was starting to run to him to heal him when the goblin thru a bomb.

The bomb went off and the DRG flew from the oasis to the OP right past my guy running toward his original spot.

The animation I saw wasn't the DRG fleeing from the fight but kept fighting and once the bomb blew, he did the dying animation all the way to OP.

By far the funniest thing that I've seen in this game was back when I first started. I was in Ghelsba Outpost and someone decided to train all of the Orcs from the top and zone into Ronfaure. Well this was before SE fixed the MPK thing and all you saw was low level's being overrun and slaughtered as the Orcs walked back.... another player yelled at them and said he going to call gm and let them ban.
i knew the upset player, so i talked to him, apologized and calmed him down.
than i scolded that boy and told him i´m not going to tolerate such a behaviour in my ls.

I think another funny moment I had was with two of my friends on chocobos. My one friend got poisoned and we told him to chocobo to our position in the highlands and we would get rid of it. (We were in an xbox live party chat so he's swearing and tons of stuff too.) Well when he gets to us he has like 13 hp and was losing 2 hp at a tic. I was joking with my whm friend and said "Hey, what happens when someone dies on a chocobo?" There was a moment of silence and he says "Well, let's find out" and my friend on the chocobo dismounted and fell to the ground. After getting my Davoi Crest, my LS leader told a THF n the LS to only open the door to Dirtyhanded Gochakzuk's house but not to go in. He opened the door, went in and the door closed behind him. Shortly after you hear all of the Orcs grunting, the windows lighting up with magic spells, and the THF running out of the house with a bunch of Orcs running after him lol. It looked like that Elmer Fudd/Daffy Duck/Bugs Bunny cartoon where Daffy told Elmer to wait until he got home to shoot him and they went inside, the door closed, and the windows lit up with a shotgun blast.

So being PLD i grabbed all 4 of the gobs and told whm to teleport altep i knew i was about to get whooped on but i figured one death better then 6. Right before the teleport got casted i died and everyone got teleported cept one of the DDs. He screamed out something right before they teleported, "WAIT.. WAIT!.. I dont have that one yet.... Then the 4 gobs all turned and faced him at the same time. The DD tried to run away but those gobs took him out. I got to watch the whole thing lying KOd on the ground. Couldnt stop laughing for about 30 mins.

I remember being in Sandy Dyna about 3 years ago. We were camped at the stables and our LS leader went out the tunnel to do a sac-pull. That's not even bad. A while back, I used to be in this Dynamis LS that has been around for 3years. I've never done Dynamis before and I'd thought all the members would know where to go...after 3years...but there was always this one member who always got lost...in every zone. It wasn't like said player had taken a break and came back, and was disoriented. She attended almost every run for 3years, but always seemed to be lost if she AFK'd for more than 15ish mins and the LS had moved camp.

I'm bumping the thread back up because I just remembered the time when I first started playing FFXI on my crappy old dinosaur of a PC. I lagged...A LOT. Like, to the point where I hated being in Windurst....and that's where I started off at! My characters had a penchant for lagging while running and falling underneath bridges. My character would be stuck under water and I had to call a GM every time. Once I remember I was in Port Windurst and I was innocently on my way to the fishing docks...or the equips/magic stores and my character lagged and I fell through the floor board and onto a boat nearby, rendering myself stuck. Everyone in the entire zone caught wind of this (thanks to my linkshell) and proceeded to take paparazzi shots of my ass stuck on a boat...sigh -_-

Only one moment comes to mind, from a long long time ago... back when cap was 75 believe it or not.

I was 3 manning aura statues in the Ullikummi room for diorites with zero luck for diorites as usual, and obviously clearing the room before repops so it's really boring but relaxing because no one was around and the exp wasn't terrible.
Up comes this kid Tigrress (http://www.ffxiah.com/player/Ramuh/Tigrress) comes in with his end game shell and camps on top of us... with about 8 people. We compete for pops for a while, and we win plenty of pulls as if winning pulls on aura statues meant anything. Tigrress gets pretty upset and displays this in /say in forms of how my group has no right to be there and they deserve diorites over us and other random crap. So his alliance spreads out really far apart to cover more ground and they win a pull. At this point my group gets bored and we're juggling the idea of leaving but then another statue pops...

They claim it, then another pops and their healer aggros, so now they have a whopping three mobs on them. No big deal because they have plenty of people to deal with that. Oh wait, someone died... oh another... oh hey they wiped.

So I send them tells asking if they want raise, because I'm nice like that. Then I notice the zone getting emptier. Oh they're homepointing one by one. I asked Tigrress if he's coming back, but I didn't get a response :(
