Upon the introduction of Trials of the Magians, I partially understood the desire not to allow -storm spells to count toward the quotas involving weather trials. For one, not all of the spells would have been available on /SCH (though this point is ultimately inconsequential given the frequency of Thunder and the rarity of people who make Light or Dark Magian weapons other than Arka IV).

However, the sheer lack of Fire weather overall and the lack of weather availability in certain trials (*ahem* Wyvern Great Axe trial in Earth weather. Really?!) leads me to believe that it could be nothing but helpful if -storm spells acted as actual weather for these trials. It would help further if geodes dropped upon defeating monsters while under the influence of a -storm spell, if only to blunt the gougers at the Auction House.

i fully agree with this

Sounds good to me. I see no drawback here except for people who have trouble saying no when asked to pull out their SCH. And they really really need to take a long look at the scarcity of fire weather and the feasibility of certain other weather trials. The devs may feel there's balance here, but I assure them there is not.
