No this isn't about VW, not directly anyway, after 10 years isn't it long overdue that ores, logs, hides etc. be able to get stacked?

Since were practically drowning in such items nowadays, it would help every-ones inventory.

i can kinda understand why they origionaly made logs and ores unstackable, but not hides. Even in rl they could be stacked easily on top of one another.

I can't, since both Lumber and Ingot's stack, it doesn't make sense.

Ore is a sloppy ball of metal, ingots are nice flat refined bars. I'm happy to overlook that for inventory though.

The item system definitely needs an overhaul. How in Altana's name can 12 huge pieces of lumber take up the same amount of room in my gobbiebag as a gardenia seed?

Here are some of my suggestions for making everyone (especially crafters) happy:

1. Allow us to reform clusters from stacks of crystals. Even if we have to trade a flower or some miniscule amount of gil to do this, it would immediately free up 30-40 inventory slots on my main and various mules.

2. More stackable materials. As others here have suggested... ores, hides, logs should all be stackable considering their refined products are. Others make absolutely no sense as to why they don't stack (e.g. gardenia seed).

3. Increase the stack limit from 12 to 99 on more items, especially if it makes sense to do so. If you can carry 99 cookies in one slot, why can't you carry the same amount in pet food biscuits?

4. Crafting bank - create an NPC in the guilds that stores only crafting materials for you so that you're not stuck checking mog safes, lockers, storage, sacks, and satchels on your main and a half dozen mules for mats that you're absolutely positive you have somewhere.

5. Create a guild point item prediction NPC. Similar to the weather NPC who gives you hints about the weather over the next few days, this NPC would let you know the next few guild point items for your current rank so that you can plan your synths accordingly.

Anyway that's just a few suggestions. Maybe you guys could add more and hopefully this thread will get forwarded to the devs.
