I noticed that at one time i had the perfect abyssea party set up. Which was at the time 2 summoners, 2 black mages, and 3 healing mages. Well after I can assume a year of abyssea its all new player with skill of 200. Since black , scholar, and blue are fully merited and done with exp outside of ls events. Its harder to put together a party these days. Hell i am a level 90 sch I never feel like heading to pt on it

With eph mobs and the heroes elementals you can have your whm banish/holy killshot anything that is not light based after melee'ing it down to a low %. 3-5 of those and typically you would be capped at azure.

T.T

I'd love to get a solid reason why I was not able to pick Loire or any form of it with x's or numbers or whatever. Aside from telling me its a real place.

Back to the topic at hand...
It wouldn't take much to push azure light back up, as previously mentioned.

Azure jobs: NIN + any job that has offensive magic that can hit anywhere from 100~500 easily

Really any proc job can azure a few ephemerals nearby or not so nearby if you are leeching - please say you're not... nvm.

Don't even really need to deal 100 damage to get an azure kill. If you can spam stone, banish, or your favorite elemental ichi you can probably proc azure.... just have a melee get eph mobs to 1%.

for those who are not on PC and perhaps not using 3rd party programs... 100~500 easy magic damage is 'safe'. that's all.
but you are quite right, Hoshi.

x.x Wow... i think you're making some assumptions there. 100-500 severely limits who can get an azure kill. The spells i mentioned have very low recast times and can be cast repeatedly on a monster while it is being held by the melee who got it to almost-dead. I don't think that pc usage or 3rd party program usage defines the ability of players in this game. You can play smart on a PS2 or Xbox just as easily as you can play stupidly using every cheat in the book on the worlds most souped-up gaming computer.

100~500 is not a lot on ephemeral but it's really not that important an issue.
I thought your assessment of 1% azure kill was a bit too precise was all. hard to tell on 360 or PS2.

most mages with an ascetic's tonic can achieve 100~500 quite easily actually. but again, it's not that important an issue. I would assume not to spend an evening getting exp this way anyway. parties just get used and mages typically leave from boredom or better offers (say yellow procs for seals) anyway.

I solo eph mobs on COR. Seems like they have around 4k hp... maybe 4.5k (fire shot + wildfire usually kills them). 100-500 dmg on a 4k mob is somewhere between 2% and 12.5% of their life. My point is that if you get them to almost dead you're talking about somewhere between 40-100 damage to kill them, not 100-500.

point taken, Hoshi.

I really wasn't trying to make this a precise science as to how to kill for azure. my basic point was...
if you can hit an ephemeral for 100~500 with magic damage 'easily' you should have no problem. you aren't really disagreeing with me. you're just stating that it can be done with smaller damage. let's move on

Yeah it’s easy to know mobs HP if you read damage logs. I do not use 3rd party, never have and i can gauge mob hp like that.

that and you can look at mob hp bar, if its 1/2 red its 50% health, if the section you are looking at looks like it takes 10 of them to fill the bar then tis 10% and so on.

I have been looking at hp bars for a long, long time. not hard for players to gauge it if your used to practicing it.

Anyways i been in abyssea on whm getting asure kills with holy and banish ( yes i know how to time cast times for stuff like that with others killing it)

useally anyway unless people are doing 50%-100% hp on ws.

OK since we ate on the topic of abyssea lights i have a question, what is the order of the lights you want if your trying to get your af 3 feet? Some people have told me but they are very vague, every time i get in abyssea and start trying to build my light i either get camped on top of, of the mob decides to starting beating the crap out of me with tier III spells.

So i either end up dead or i win and keep going only to start getting the chests drops with 15 mins left in abyssea ; ;

I think the problem with feet is that you want some amber but not too much (or you'll see more KIs than item chests). So assuming you want to stay in for a while I think your order should be cap pearl and azure, then amber some normal mobs (maybe 10 normal mobs or 2-3 ephs)? If you're not interested in getting blue chests and just want to max your gold chest rate you can skip the azure and just cap pearl and get amber about halfway to cap.

Well since i always seem to run out of time anyways (and you have to start all over if you exit) then i think i will try this and see what i end up with. Thank you very much Hoshi ^^
