Hello all, it's been a long time since I've traversed Vana'diel. I was wanting to show my girlfriend around the world of FFXI and since I lost my original login info we made a couple trial accounts. I'm shocked at how much trials are limited, it's hard to believe that a trial account cannot form parties or use the auction house. I can understand maybe no trades, no tell, and no shouts, but the rest is pretty limiting for new players.

We've already found a loophole in being able to party, but how would a fledgling white mage on a trial account procure his spells as he levels with no access to the Auction House? :(

I suppose we can travel all over the world to fight the monsters for their drops, but some monsters would take a while for us to defeat let alone farm. Are we without a choice in procuring these scrolls the hard way or can a non trial account purchase the scroll and trade to the trial account?

We're on the Odin server. You can contact Neoshono in game if you'd like. (we'll be playing in about 30 minutes - an hour from this gets posted and be playing for a while) Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Item trades are locked to prevent RMT abusing trials and generating a lot of gil to send to bank characters. As a mage, you have to procure scrolls from NPCs or mob drops, unless you turn it into a full account. Parties have to be started from a full account to get you into one, which is stated by the limitations on the trial account.

The limits are there because RMT abused the ulimited trial accounts that were available several years ago. You could contact SE and have them look up your old login info if you have enough of the personal information registered to the account.
