Most amazing Idea!!!!
What about trading gill for experience points??!!!!
I mean think about it their are people with so much gil that they don't know what to do with it right?
People are complaining they cant level fast enough so i made this little formula.
1000 gil = 1000exp
20000 gil = 5000 exp
100000 gil = 15000 exp
1500000 gil = 50000 exp
etc etc etc
(The above is a satirical attempt to make fun of atleast 25% of all "request" threads posted on this forum I think people are posting "ffxi withdrawal pain" type threads that don't make sense and yes this is the longest sentence in history)

Or how about questing for an item that gives you all jobs fully skilled to level 90?
It could be called Taam's Pac.

what if you could trade exp for gil?

The problem with this is that it would only encourage those who are already lazy enough to want to purchase gil even more.
It kind of skips the entire point of "the real goal was the journey", too, which a lot of people miss in this game, but... everyone plays their own way, so I won't get into that.

lol I wonder how many are going to take these ideas seriously?
I would support this. As well as the reverse.

Sounds silly to be honest, leveling is by far not that hard anymore compared to before.
Also, by that logic/formula, why would anyone pay 20,000 gil for 5,000 exp, while they could just buy 5 x 1,000gil and get 5,000 exp for 15,000 gil cheaper?
With plenty of gil, there's plenty of stuff to do still, level crafts, donate gil to Aerius, synergy, buy better items, donate gil to me.
Have I mentioned donating gil?

EXP for gil, that would be something I could go for. I've wasted over a million EXP easily so far. Even with a 1:1 conversion I'd be happy, and would motivate me to do more, I'd leech people from 30 to 90 for free all the time.

just wrong... so.... wrong
Only need <month to get first job to 90, unlocking subjobs, getting chocos and getting khazaahm keys and such will slow you down. If you want to do ranks and get airship and stuff would make it longer. compare that to it taking a year or more for some in the past.
With subjobs already unlocked and adecent sub pre leveled to 49, you clan take a melee job from 1 to 90 in roughly a week.
I really don't see the need to make XP any easier at this point--xp is kinda more meaningless than gil is now--they both come way to freaking easy (compared to previous rates).

No no, I got it. Instead of your gil idea how about we get exp everytime we post on the forums. Brilliant idea, I know. Say if you're below 100 posts you only get 1000 exp but as your posts go up, you get more exp.

Ok, so here what you do. And I've done it, it works.
1.) Take your lvl90 job and complete a page in abyssea.
2.) Do NOT turn it in.
3.) Change to your lower level job.
4.) Turn in the OPs.
5.) Congratulate yourself for the effort.
Optional.
6.) Repeat.

maybe we should have some kind of system where you can buy items with some kind of "points" you earn in Abyssea, then being able to trade said item to an NPC to give you a massive amount of gil. Repeatable as many times as you wish!
Oh and you can hold as many items as your invo will allow!!!
That would be awesome.
what if you could trade exp for gil?
I'm with Gunit on this. This idea is a lot better to me when put in reverse, and i'd love to be able to trade my extra experience into gil.

You can already turn exp into gil sorta, or more accurately the cruor you receive while exping in Abyssea you can turn into gil for those who wanted to turn exp into gil. Getting exp into gil on top of that might be nice though with extra exp. How about this though: Merits trading in for gil. Every merit traded in can earn you 10k gil so with 20 merits you receive 200k worth of gil. How's that for farming adding with the cruor and dominion notes? As for that silly post about buying exp... that would be spending money on gear and killing monsters with a possibly bought weapon and some bought gear.
I'm not reading everyone's post so someone might've already pointed this out, but even with that formula; why would you spend 1k gil on 1k exp then all of a sudden go up to 20k gil for 5k exp when you can pay out 5x 1k gil for 5x 1k exp and save yourself 15k gil for 15k more worth of exp? lol.

I'd love to be able to turn my merits into gil. It's not like there is anything else i can do with them at the moment...which brings me to why they need to add new merit additions :)

would not mind exp > gil but not the other way around, and this is the reason.
though exp > gil might incurage RMT to flood abyssea, don't know honstly.
