I'm sure you've seen 100 other NPC follower threads so here's another!
The Gambit System
Yea like from FFXII, but for your NPC allowing you to fine tune your NPC's AI in a manner to fit whatever you have planned for them.
I know their current AI is "ok" and it "works" but a Gambit like system would be better befitting them instead of their current AI, and it would be something worth using all those stored up Fellow Points you may have.
In FFXII you could go to sleep level 30 and wake up go to work and come home with level 99 Characters because of the Gambit System, Why can't our adventuring fellows benefit from such a system?
Deciding what weapon skills they're to use, and at what TP % they're to use them.
Letting them rest when low on Hp/Mp while you keep on fighting.
Conserving their MP to only buff you.
Imagine the possibilities.
Hand-To-Hand
Why is H2H so Gimpy with NPCs? Mine is Level 84 I gave her some H2H weapons to test out and they blew goat chunks
she was doing 300 dmg Asuran fists, and never broke 40 dmg per fist, meanwhile she would hit for 200+ on the same mob with a Greatsword, and doing 1k+ Ground Strikes she is always Fierce Attacker
Could we please get some adjustments to NPC Hand-To-Hand?
NPC Armor & Weapons
NPCs are adventurers and as such should be allowed the same freedoms we have with our gear, while the armor system for them is nice, I think it should be expanded upon to include a more diverse array of equipment.
Ajakheem currently offers a small selection of unique weapons for your NPC why not let him offer Relic/Empy/Mythic knockoffs for a steep fee? by Knockoffs I mean they look like them, but don't hit as hard ;p
while we're on Ajakheem... why not let us by AF/Relic sets for our NPC as well? the category says "Armor Sets" so why is there only 1 set available?
Ballista!
Remember a time when FFXI wasn't serious business? When 1000 people would cram cities to do events?
New content is always nice, but you should also work on making the OLD content that no one uses now into something they may find interesting(Chocobo Racing is a good example of this)
Ballista used to be very popular to the point where you even held a championship for it.
The Exp for participating in Ballista was dreadfully low back in the day, and I think it should be raised to a decent amount per level of your character.
500 exp for 75+ was pathetic back in the day, and it's horrible today, say... bump it up to 10k exp(or more) for 75+ to compete with Abyssea and GoV burns. 10k exp isn't alot today, that's 18 mobs in the sewer(if you're capped), which can be done in 10 minutes
Gil is another thing, you would receive double the participation fee for a victory (Which isn't much today since you can make 100k+ in an hour) so up the Gil rewards for a victory.
Or offer some other rewards like Voiddust, Traverser Stones, Ancient Currency, etc etc
Betting is another thing that should be introduced either on teams or individual players Kill/Death count
A side effect from Ballista coming back may also grant knowledge of Jobs to people. going from lv 1 to lv 99 in a day leaves the newer folk unaware of their Jobs role, abilities and all the little tricks
