Where in Vana'diel is the Community Team? (Discussion)

How well do you know Vana'diel? Could you find your way through the Yuhtunga Jungle blindfolded and navigate to safety by sound only? Do you know each individual crevice and nook of the maps of Vana'diel? The Community Team has concocted a series of trials to put your knowledge of Vana'diel, as well as your riddle-solving abilities, to the test!

The Community Team will make an appearance on the Test Server and hide in special locations scattered across Vana'diel. Once the team member has made their way to the hiding spot, we will announce a hint regarding the location on both the forum and also in-game via linkshells that will be distributed. Players must then hunt down the hidden Community Team member. The first three players to find the hiding Community Team member and purchase a Red Rose from their bazaar will be awarded a Chocobo Beret!


Yay, this contest sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun! However.... I got my beret in the first round of giveaways with the twitter contest! I wonder if I can still participate just for fun... :confused:

I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who came out for our event on Friday. I and the rest of the Community Team were so happy to see all the positive comments and that everyone had a great time and enjoyed themselves! I am sure I speak for the entire team when I say we had a blast interacting with you all! :cool:

This event was a lot of fun too, looking forward to running around again Friday. Interacting with the community and wracking our brains to figure out where they were at was just a lot of fun.

Because linkshell events are soooooooo important they can't be rescheduled around one-off special events members may like to do.

Hard to justify rescheduling events for something that does not benefit the linkshell as a whole when people have varied, hectic schedules and Friday is one of the few days that the majority of the members are able to get together to do things as a group. Leadership involves sacrificing your own happiness for the good of your people.

And let me preempt, I am not complaining "wah wah, move the event to a different day when it is more convenient for me" because it would be stupidly selfish since Friday is the most logical day for an event like this as most people will have more free time to do something like it. It is great that the Community Team is doing something like this, and I hope that they do more in the future.

That is, are other regions actually not eligible for the prize? I couldn't see a mention of it, and though it usually is stated very clearly if it really is just for one region and one region only I'm still unsure.

It should still be fun to join even without it but I am sure I'm not the only one wondering about this (unless I'm the only one who missed it being stated somewhere even though I did look around, a lot).

No, I didn't. They could have been unable to answer, and they really should mention such things somewhere here. I don't mind the timing much, being around the early morning here.

It was fun to 'watch', and to be able to participate even though I mostly just sat in Jeuno due to either not getting them hints at all, or getting them way too late hah! Not sure if it was more of my stupid or of my tired, but yeah...

I haven't been online in a while, how do GMs find ya for the reward? (I was a winner from the first event).

The GMs who were at the event ask you for your name and server if you won, and in coming days a GM will show up and give it to you. Just curious though, has anyone gotten their hat who won during the 5/25 event? I was the last winner in the last event and unsure if there's an order while they distribute. Also can the GMs post pictures that we took at the end, was pretty neat!

Hey everyone!

We wanted to thank all those who attended another successful Where in Vana'diel is the Community Team! The stakes for Chocobo Berets were set high as we posted some really challenging hints. Despite the ruthless hints, typhoons, and a close hunt for Giant Scales, we all had a really great time. :)

All the members of the Community Team are putting their heads together to create our next fun-filled event so we can hangout with all of you again soon! The Poison Dash sounds pretty harsh, but we will look into it even though it was said mostly out of humor :p It was truly a lot of fun and thank you for the great memories. :)
