On a serious note, yeah, this subject has been touched upon in a few threads recently and it's not like it's something new, since they've always had these region-exclusive happenings and items with it. I would not mind real-life items, but when it's in-game, I think it really should be available to all, or none.

Will be interesting to see if this will make its way to the EU, NA, and other regions but if I had to guess, I would likely say no. Is one of those things I would like to be wrong about though.

I think nothing will happen. This stuff is done to separate lucky fans from the have nots. Realisticaly not everyone can't attend these things because life etc. gets in the way.

Realistically not everyone attends these events for freebees. Most go to enjoy themselves, and to meet other players. (Virtual Costumes) shouldn't get in life's way and should not make anyone feel like a have-not its just a Costume in a Video game. ^^b

It's not like this is anything new for SE. They've made exclusive content the Japanese market before... entire games for example! I'm not saying it's right at all, but that's how they roll.

Even with that, NA is a huge region, and Alaska/Canada don't get locations within reach to attend. Japan is a fairly compact country that it's easy to get to these events.

Also, the time zone differences don't help with the online contests. Last time they did them, they did it during my working hours where I have no internet. No chance to win, when the contest is for speed during a few hours each day.

And think about how funny the similarities are! (Hint: Moosh came first. He's also the one who originally gave the game "Glowing" Weapons, the Black Burtgang was his first one. which was later adapted by SE as well, the glow effect, not the specific sword.) Its not to make fun of SE, I just think its mildly funny he makes a .dat, and then some time in the near future, SE Makes a similar armor/weapon design/glow.

I went to the first two fan festivals in california and was super excited to get my two moogle items. then the third fan fest sold out really fast and I was sad I couldn't get the moogle shield. Now I may miss out on the suit? =( Super sad day

No, I've expressed my horror of it a couple of times. It sends me headfirst into the Uncanny Valley whereas very little else has ever had that effect on me.

Has Japan invented a machine to stave off nightmares? If so, SE really owes me one...

Tsukino makes a valid point, historically the fanart contest rewards have been very lackluster, I was hoping for something more usefull for the 10th aniversary, after all, it does require lot of actual work putting together an illustration.

So, it would be nice if there was a reward like the ranks of mog bonanza for the winners and maybe a statue for the participants (like in mog bonanza)

I allways looked at taru's and complained how you can't really admire the gear they wear as much as other races. This is different unless your a taru, it looks fun and i want it but it does not look anywhere near as awesome as if your a taru in my opinion.
