error code 0244

I recently tried playing again on the ultimate collection on steam. However, whenever I try to log in it gives me an error with the code 0244 I can't find anything about what causes this to happen however.

So far I've tried uninstalling the game and all expansions and reinstalling but it's still there.

My computer is using Windows 7 x64

The error happens right after it checks my playonline id and password and the error only pops up if they are correct. There is currently no way for me to add the information about my squeenix account and I can't seem to update the viewer through checking the files.

It's a long shot but 0244 means a data read or media error in searches.

That's a good point. It very well could be your issue.
