As the title states.

Just logged on this morning, or tried to at least and got roadblocked by a message telling me I need to merge my accounts although...........I DID THIS LAST BLOODY YEAR WHEN YOU FIRST TOLD PEOPLE TO DO IT AND YOU STUCK A SEMI-USELESS ITEM IN FRONT OF OUR NOSES TO ENCOURAGE US TO GET IT DONE SOONER!!!!

Why oh why have I just put my billing information in for the 9999th time? Why didn't your system remember that I've already done this once and shouldn't have to do this again? Do you enjoy scaring your CUSTOMERS into thinking they're gunna be paying multiple times a month? Do you not realise I'm concerned more now than ever that you're not going to do a good job of keeping my information safe/to yourself?

If this was some free, flash based MMO made from some kid's studio bedroom, this would be almost acceptable......but it's not. You're a WORLDWIDE company celebrating the 25th anniversary of your flagship franchise and your PAYING CUSTOMERS are having to mess around like this often, just to log in and use the service they pay for, it's a joke.

Apologies for going off on one even though my problem has been semi-solved but messing around with crap like this should NOT be something I should have to do when looking at how much I pay a month. Seriously guys, I feel like you've just started making games for the internet and you're just learning how do to it all.

Well, that's wasted enough of my Sunday morning. Expect me to be back when my bank statement arrives and I've been charged twice or something.

I would have to assume you only linked the PlayOnline Account to a Square Enix Account previously.
That is not the same as the transfer, which they are now finally pushing mandatory for everyone.

I can not see the system failing so badly that one even COULD do it twice.
Everything is possible, of course, and I do understand your frustration very well!

For what it is worth, I have used the Crysta-nonsense method since the transferral first became available and have not had any problems with payments, or any other account management stuff.

I know there are some less fortunate users, though. =/

Just some thoughts!
Better luck for the future~

Hey sorry, I meant linking, but they chucked the phrase 'Transfer your POL account to a SE account" etc. in there to confuse me a bit and I seem to have passed that on! :P

All the actions I took this morning were EXACTLY the same as the actions I took whenever it was they first asked people to do this. I'm lucky enough to have a card that's accepted so I don't have to use Crysta which means I can't comment on it's quality but I have heard mixed comments about it.

I can see that doing this twice shouldn't annoy me that much and it isn't the end of the world, but I always feel like the running of this game follows a "One step forward, two steps back" mentality. I'm pretty sure that if other, lower market online games can maintain a consistant quality of service, there's no reason that I shouldn't get that for my £9 a month.

Yeah, they do have a knack on doing this kind of stuff seemingly exceedingly and unnecessarily confusing, and you are surely not the the only one thinking like that. Meaning I agree that it should be made more clear/easy. It never should give this sort of trouble to the customers.

The price certainly is high in my opinion, and it doesn't show in the quality really.
I understand that being a multi-region thingy they have to plan things carefully but it really does not need to be so difficult...

SE do like to make you jump through hoops to give them money. The tougher it is to hand them your $12.99, the more pleased they seem to be with their convoluted system which induces head-banging rages.

That being said, in the time you typed that spiel, you could have transferred/merged your account three times over. Time well spent, I'd say.

My rant was composed while I was waiting for the comfirmation e-mail and while I was waiting for it to let me connect again. :P

While you're waiting for things like that, I recommend trying Outside, the smash hit MMO fromt he makers of Real Life. Aamazing graphics, thousands of character classes, endless customizability, and best of all it's free (Government taxes may apply in your location).

More seriously, just relax, it's not THAT big of a deal. Though I don't remember having to wait at all after doing the transfer before I could play again. My problem was how hidden the process was initially. Some of my friends couldn't even find the page where you started the process, nor the instructions.

Cheers for that. I actually work full time, 40+ hours a week. So the fact that I try to play this in my precious free time and get delayed is possibly the main catalyst for my anger. I'll try to work on that for ya. :D

To be fair, FFXI was originally released 2 major versions of PS2, 3 major versions of PS3, 4 versions of PSP and a Vita ago...

To be fair, Dallas does make sense once in a great while, though it apparently didn't happen in this thread...

You are playing a game that still HAS to be compatible with a PS2 hard drive. Let's dumb it down. A dinosaur is blocking traffic. Given that you know its a dinosaur, why do you care that it is blocking traffic? Get out of your car and run screaming, now!

Bronto-burgers anyone?

No... everyone get out their cars, beat it down, carve it up...free bronto burgers for everyone! (and no more blocking of traffic from the dinosaur!)

Until people realize they are eating slices of oversized lizard... I doubt they taste like chicken or cow... then the streets are full of vomiting people! People will flock to the disaster, only to get hit with sympathic vomitting and soon the whole freeway is one big mess of sick
