I'm unsure if this idea was already mentioned but what if a system was implemented where (simular to the sky/sea/einherjar) u can choose to collect key items after defeating each tier of nms in VW in order to fight corresponding HNMs that represents those tiers to obtain good pieces of gear and magian items as well? Example; defeat the windurst vwnms to obtain a ki, that you can use to pop a HNM that could reward a piece of a gear set and items you can use towards.. Lets say af3 +3 for lv 99 content maybe? Repeat this for every section in VW in order to complete gear sets and magian trials. This way more shouts can occure with all vwnms and in turn can attract more attention from players who are interested in different items that they otherwise could not get before because the shouts would be more focused on more popular nms. This means players can get more chances to get their wins and items they want while it still gives veteran players reasons to make shouts in older content. "I scratch your back and you scratch mines" type of scenario.

Mind you it don't have to be exactly like what's mentioned above, but increasing replay value of content is, imo, important to ffxi in this time and age where we have casual and hardcore players playing together.

best way to improve the replay value is to make the drop rates not so terribad that you'll stop playing it long before you ever get any gear from it.

Yeh, i agree with you there and that the droprate and item distribution issues should be prioritized before other ideas like mentioned above is considered, just an idea that came to mind ever since i started to notice a scarcity in lower tier shouts all together. There are still items that are worth gettin that i'm sure ppl would like to obtain. Same goes for woe but thats a whole different topic there lol. Just weird that VW is one of the newer content out yet only a small percentage of it is being spamed. Only thing thats maintaining that much is the broken prize system which is pretty sad.
