I have some information on upcoming Besieged adjustments I’d like to announce.

The below adjustments are scheduled to take place during this month’s version update.

Weakness timer will be reduced when K.O.ed during Besieged
In the case that you are still K.O.ed when Besieged finishes, after receiving a Raise or being revived you will receive experience points for the battle. (If you return to your home point, you will not receive experience points)


We will be announcing the date for the version update quite soon, so stay tuned!

Are there plans for upgrading Besieged powering up the beastmen forces making them more relevant?

Also, I feel quite ashamed that I don't do besieged more often considering Siren is currently 3704 and 1. Oh that 1 D:, April 14th 2011 @ 00:58 PST will never be forgotten ;_;

Just reading that makes me want to go back out there and do some Besieged :O!

Currently, if a player gets disconnected or lags out during besieged, all the smashing and destroying they did prior to getting D/C'd doesn't count towards the exp at the end. Are there any plans to fix this?

Yeah.. since they don't seem to be making any progress towards solving the console crash issues, they need to at least work on a way to remedy this problem so those suffering from crashes can still get decent rewards.

Great adjustments. I would say that the above issues facing console players should also be addressed if possible.

This is something I actually do not want to change. For people who didn't rush every job to cap, this is a good place to get some xp and skill-ups in the higher, old level cap area. I see the progression as being able to contribute in campaign in the 60's, beseiged in the 70's, then move on to abyssea in the 80's. Now if they were to mix in new tougher mobs with the old ones, I think that could work. Something for everybody without destroying what people in the mid-70's can do.

this is the sole reason i never beseiged . i got tired of survivin a hour of besieged jsut to get killed in one shot 2 seconds before it wwas over and not gettin anything but IS.

Shh that day never happened, and that 1 is because we exceeded the pre-set domain of wins.

What about xbox users disconnecting near the end of every besieged? would it be possible to put an npc in the battle that could give you your Experience points and imperial standing that you have so far accrued so we'd at least have a chance of getting what we earned?

I think this should have been implemented/fixed from the start. It's great that they're finally doing it. Better late than never. :p

Turns out that the whole server was due to get a free mythic if you made it to 5 years...

Totally agree, not everything that existed at the old level caps needs 'upgrading', there are still many people doing Besieged on the servers I play on and I find it great fun to run around mindlessly killing things without some jerk alliance leader screaming about wrong coloured lights.

I don't want to see any the mobs changed, I like this adjustment, bit surprised we aren't getting auto-RR (not that it needs it). Would be nice if the Beastmen Generals respawned faster outside of Besieged though, dont like them never being up.

Now I just have to wait for Cait Sith.

This is a great adjustment but... what about when you disconnect during Besieged and lose all the points you earned that far? It really sucks to go through a whole Besieged only to disconnect, log back in and have it end.

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing that the crash issue here is the same one or similar that is causing the voidwatch crashes, and that is where every ability/spell visual/animation (from what I understand) gets stored into memory after it's used and remains in memory so it's easily grabbed if it's used again and this memory doesn't clear until zoning/logging.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Besieged crashing stopped or lessened once they get the voidwatch issue figured out.

Apologies for bumping this old thread but didn't feel this required a new thread. Done my first besieged since the adjustments the other day gaining an easy 15,000 exp which I was delighted with and would love to do these more often. Around 50 people were in the zone and we managed to defeat most of the mobs except Medusa and a couple of her generals.

Biggest issue for me after that rush was that every beastman hold was then at level 0, would of been nice to have done another one without waiting for hours. Is it possible to raise the occurrence of this? Also a message to Jeuno, San d'Oria, Bastok and Windurst saying something along the lines of:

"The Empress of Aht Urhgan has made a plea for help with the current advance of hostile's on her City, Head to Al Zahbi and take up arms"

Or something to that effect, could empty out Jeuno a little for a while at least, and give the idle'rs something to do while waiting on shouts.
