....what pieces would chose?
I'd like to see Ninja Hatsuburi and Tekko. I think the +1 head is a great EVA piece and I'm all about the +1 hands for ranged attacks.

White Mage AF1 Hands. They're currently the best in slot for weapon skills and will be the best in slot for Healing Magic after the cure formula changes. They should scale to be relative to their position at 75, or that is to say they should be better then almost all DD gear for all jobs much like they were at 75, while maintaining the cure superiority they will get with the update.
White Mage AF1 Legs for Divine Magic assuming the upgrade was good. White Mage AF1 feet if the spell interruption rate on them increases significantly with an upgrade.

If SE makes +2 sets of artifact armor, don't expect STR to stay on the WHM hands. Take a look at PUP relic > relic+2 changes, and you'll notice they took one stat and replaced it with another. (PUP lost 35 HP and Subtle Blow+5 on the set this way, for instance.)
So you would see something like this:
Healer's Mitts +2
[Hands] All Races
DEF: 24 MP +25 MND +10
Healing magic skill +18
Enmity -6
"Cure" potency +10%
Lv. 99 WHM

All of them. Except, for the +2 pieces, have it be a seperate questline that requires you to have finished the first questline. When you are finished with each quest, you get an item that allows you to augment your previous +1 armor into the ultimate +2 through magian trials. That way if you don't have the +1 yet, you can still work on getting it made, without being forces to wait.
Example of what I'm meaning is:
Step 1: Complete AF3 (Which is the nickname of third artifact quest, that gives second armor piece.)
Step 2: Do first quest (Requiring 96+ of that job to start.) Reward is a single item that allows you to turn one +1 artifact armor into a +2 through magian trial. If SE does this like relic, then this item plus others needed to turn it from the regular artifact into the +2 version.
Step 3: Do second quest (Requiring 96+ of that job to start.) Reward for second armor into the +2 version.
Step 4: Do third quest for third piece
Step 5: Do fourth quest for fourth piece
Step 6: Do fifth quest for fifth piece.
The basic idea would either be exploring the beginnings of the job, or a continuation of the original artifact quests. When done, you would have 5 items, with each pertaining to Head, Body, Hands, Legs, and Feet.
