Ignis Eruca in Abyssea-Attohwa do not give credit for Staff Trial 1744

I was killing Ignis Eruca in Abyssea-Attohwa with Comet doing over 3k damage. I had inscribed Teiwaz equipped. I did not get credit for kills on the trial.

I then went to Crawler's Nest [S] to try Processionaires, and they worked fine. It's just going to take longer here without the benefit of Atma and enhancement effects.

Please see what can be done to fix this problem.

It's because the requirement is Crawlers, and not Crawler types or Crawler Family. Eruca's are a subfamily. The trial states specifically Crawlers.:

Objective: 200 experience-yielding Crawler creatures.

Unfortunately, this misunderstanding crops up here and there with the trials. There are several out there that are very specific on their targets, like ones that say Lizards and Raptors don't count or ones that say Birds and Colibri don't count.

It's not a bug in the trials, it's more that people are not understanding the requirement.

If you go to that wiki page's Talk page, it was noted in Sept. 2011 that Eruca do not work for this trial:
