ps2 cop bug any other ps2 out there with same problem?

ok I'll be posting this in the bug section of the forum once I get more information from my friend.

But for now as anyone else that plays on the ps2 have this problem?



On the ps2 In the cutscene initiated by Monberaux during CoP mission the rights of life after the pale kid hands you the mysterious amulet the screen goes black and does not load


Is this a known issue and will it ever get fixed?
Does SE know about this bug?

Been there, got black (like prob all PS2/3 users). Had to call friend and have him login as guest with my account info, gave him 1 time secury code, and he spam-tab me thru the CSs (only do this if you totally trust the person with access to all your account). Since then I have loaded the game on a spare PC for CSs only (as not powerful enough to run the game and I prefer playing on console).

1. It hasn't been like that since the start. It's been like that ever since the WotG release and got worse after the point where almost all ps2 users had the HDD issue they had to patch.

2. SE customer service will tell you SE no longer actively supports the PS2. They do not actively work on bugs unless it completely removes the ability to sign on, and the only support for PS2 they show is allowing it to play content, at a greatly inferior level.

I got through CoP without that freeze up, though starting up the starter CS for one of the moogle (or abyssea) expansions would freeze up, and the huge ass CS in ToAu near the end would as well. I was forced to log in on laptop, watch cs then log back in to ps2. It'll never get fixed, so tell your buddy to figure out a different way to watch his cs's.

I find my ps2 likes to lock onto npc's when i try to talk and won't allow me to do anything, happens randomly. Not a big fan of the ps2 anymore, but until i get another laptop to dualbox i'm stuck using it.

I smoke regularly, so i guess my tolerance for cancer is pretty high.........
