I think they should crossover some of the more famous Final Fantasy characters from the other games into this one. Like Cloud, Tidus, Aeris, Rosa, Kain.
The only reason I played Kingdom Hearts was to see some of those characters again. Either randomly place some in towns, or make it so you can travel to one town, or location from some of the games. (The ladder would be preferable, and won't effect people who want FFXI to stay exactly the same.)
Like make an add-on where we can travel via a gate to the church in the slums from Final Fantasy VII to meet Aeris. I'm betting people would reactivate their dead account just to see some of these areas.

I can already hear the mountain of FFXI purists saying to leave the game separate. But, I personally would be happy beyond words for cross-over appearances. Be them quest, event, battle, npc and so on.
Atomos has access to all worlds, both FF Dissidia and FFXI cannon has stated this. The only thing stopping this from happening is Atomos and the people he answers to. (you know who I mean)

Make Sephiroth be a final tier VWNM and watch the aftermath XD

No.
Theres a few 'common' things that make apperances in most of the games to appease the 'cross' folks. Take chocobos, Cid, etc etc. Sticking Cloud and his stupid sized sword into the middle of abyssea hopefully will never, ever happen.

No. No. No.
I wouldn't find it acceptable for Cloud to appear in VIII or for Squall to appear in X.
Numbered installments are their own contained universes. Except for the games that explicitly state it takes place in the same world like Vagrant Story in Ivalice, there should never be "cross overs" from one numbered series into another.

XI and Dissidia two universes have both stated they have access to other worlds. Besides, Cloud was in Tactics (Ivalice), in FFIX Zidane says he once knew a guy with spikey hair who wielded a buster sword. Gilgamesh, has moved from FFV to FFXII's world. Not to mention the countless referances to previous titles as the series goes on.
I kept it short but there are plenty more times this has happened. This is also the only FF title I can think of that uses inter-dimensional travel as a plot device. Rather than time or space.

Sorry didn't mean for my joke to be taken seriously ( _ _) just seems like something SE would do since lately it feels like they're just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. While there is canon basis for something this bizarre..I too would not like it.
edit: it seems as the series goes on, what before were merely callbacks, references, or mythology gags are starting to become actual tenuous connections between FF universes. Dissidia and XI's own storylines started this up with gusto.

To be fair Kingdom Hearts also stated this in a way, fact is having completely isolated universes is rather odd for any game. Soul Caliber has Ezio, Link, Spawn, Lloyd Irving and others. The nintendo worlds are connected in the form of Super Smash Brothers. Its not hard to imagine that all Final Fantasy takes place in a single universe even if separated by Time and Space.
What makes FFXI unique among numbered titles of the Final Fantasy world is it is the only updated one. It changes as time goes on making it the only "living" Final Fantasy world outside XIV. (which is another story) Point is it won't break cannon and so long as its not in a maingame storyline shouldn't affect anything. As is we have Final Heaven Tifa's signature move, Cadalbog Tidus' ultimate weapon. (though it looks more like Jecht's) Point is pieces of other final fantasys have already been placed in XI theres no reason a sephiroth BCNM couldn't work or for that matter play weapons with decent DPS that give a signature title characters limit break. (Grand lethal, Omnislash, etc.) These ideas are ment for the sake of fun and not to change things like VW storyline. Side quests like AF armor or the like.
Frankly, I think the major reason this wont happen is player characters in XI are so unbelievably weak. Sephiroth would have to be gimped even more then he was for Sora for us to even have a chance. Also, ever wonder where Shantotto's new warp was supposed to take her in Shantotto ascention, and how she mysteriously appeared and disappeared from the realm of Dissidia? Perhaps she perfects it in a time after that storyline?

It would be interesting to fight a multi-party battle in Walk of Echoes against the final forms of Kefka, Sephiroth or other big baddies.
The rewards for such fights could be renamed weaponskills (for example, Omnislash being identical to Tachi: Rana except for name) or existing weaponskills that are ingame but not usable by players (Amatsu: Tsukikage, Oisoya, Bear Killer, Rising Dragon, etc).

I'm all for little easter eggs. Maybe a Buster Sword hanging in a weapon shop or an image of Griever on someones wall. That is cool. Starting a quest to help Squall find an egg in Dangruf Wadi to mix in a recipe that will bring Yuffie out of a coma? Lamefaucet.

Perhaps an alternative, instead of main heroes and villians perhaps some of the enemies signature to each game(s). Ozma, Yizmat, Doom(Phantom) Train, Ark, Nemesis, 4 arch fiends, Demon wall, Ruby/Emerald Weapon, Jumbo Cactuar. I would certainly perfer new models since Ark with a standard airship would be only so-so. And of course signature moves would remain intact. This could also be the perfect excuses for ship/airship battles of distance enemies that will come close when conditions are met.
An unlockable cut-scene from Shantotto's memories could work as well showing events of Dissidia in XI style. Your character would never meet face to face but, you would still get to see them in XI.
Once again Signature weapons or moves with some pre-text of where they came from in a mini CS. (passed down by a sword master in another world) Maybe, These could be won in WoE BCNMs separate from vanadiel and designed for mog bonanza (though an infinite pass should you choose that reward would be nice)
Definately doesn't have to be limited to character vs cloud, squall, tidus, tina, zack fights. Nor does it mean a full fetch/kill quest. Perhaps we encounter then in WoE for but a moment only to say they are having similar trouble. Cross referances can take many forms and has already shown itself in vandiel however, the difference between what we have now and this thread is definite cross world proof. (in game text saying its from XXX world) Besides, how cool would it be to fight alongside of FF heroes against one of the many Villians with XI style music remixes?

I would also not mind a few little extra things added from other FF worlds. It CAN happen. As long as it doesn't interfere with the main FFXI storyline, why not? A cut-scene, a small replica of an item/weapon sitting on a table somewhere, a ???-type point that has something written on it by a previous FF character (like a note, a diary or a report...or even a KI with this. It doesn't even have to be BY the character, just a *hinthintwinkwinknudgenudge* would be cool)....Heck, we already travel across time and dimensional planes and maws aren't guarded obviously, so someone else must have slipped through "somewhere", lol.

FFXIII-12! They're basically the same game anyway.
FF cross Memories Off. All of the old grinding action with some added grinding action!

While I am generally against the idea of just having blatant crossover stuff, there is one crossover I would love to see as a boss and would even fit well canonically in the series. Besides, it would be another excuse for there to be another official remix of his battle theme :3

I know Gilgamesh is in the game but the other Gilgamesh that did travel across Final Fantasy's would be perfect for this.
As for the rest iono i feel Dissida is the FF-Crossover place lol.
