My questions
Q:= question
R:= reason
1)Q: Is there ANY plans to make another expansion pack?
R: The game is beginning to become extremely stale, where its just "what new gear came out this update?" theres no depth or adventure to the game anymore, and im becoming increasingly worried about the state of this game as i have seen no indication that there is any form of large scale Expansion pack in the works. these little Minixpacs dont cut it. Abyssea was ALMOST cutting it, it needed alot more of a linear plot VS a random events leading up to a "Meh" ending.
2) Q: one of the sure fire ways to keep people interested in a game is new jobs. is there any plans to expand our job selection?
R: the two things this game offered over all others was the Large Job system, and the storylines. i really feel that SE could add 4+ jobs to this game with ease. doing this would not only please players, it would increase account activity from old players going "oh they finally added this??" and coming back
3) Q: is there any plan to make ALL crafting items stackable? its getting annoying not being able to stack alot of the commonly used materials in crafts.
R: why cant i stack logs, bags of flour, and marbolo vines lol?? seriously >_>;
4) Q: is there any plans to increase the rate of skillups for crafting?
R: i find it horridly annoying that i can craft 20+ items that are within 2-5 skill levels, and not gain a single .1 of skill.
5) Q: is there any plans to make redmage actually USEABLE?
R: as it stands, everyone can do everything a redmage can do AND more, so why invite a redmage? i feel redmage needs a whole heck of alot to really bring them into their own unique role.
id love some awnsers from the dev deam on these <3

When are you going to start making fun content not derived from time sink, carrot dangling, .01% droprate school of thought?
When are you going to stop nerfing jobs and actually make weaker jobs scale up to the more powerful?
When are you going to stop making weapon trials that require you to live off welfare in your mother's basement to complete in a reasonable amount of time?
When are you going to fire "you know who"?
When are you going to understand that video games should be fun, and not be a second job that you actually lose money going to?

My question would be rather simple.
Why insist on originality, instead of using true and tested things?
This goes for for example Avatars that could have worked wonderful as FFX, but instead went from a strategic spell and ability pet class to a roll your thumbs between 1 minute recast global timers.
This goes for how PUP was corrected with split pet magic timers... but not doing the same for spirits.
Another thing is how jug pets cap, while automatons and avatars adjust to your level.
It was also possible to make songs, sambas and rolls land on players and pets... but was somehow considered important enough to separate players from pets so that you had to choose rolls, or ignore pets for songs/sambas.
Of course it is ideally good with variations, but that relies on them working. When you go experiment with things that do not work (like global timers) and then insist on keeping them forever just for making jobs different, it makes people wonder if the game is meant to be played, or looked at.

They are very slow to adjust things, probably because not having enough team members or development fund. Seeing that most of the funds are allocated to FF14. We probably will not see any expansion or worthwhile updates this year either since they are busy preparing for the relaunch of FF14 Vers 2.0. At the very least they are trying to tweak stuffs we currently have. They should focus on the problems at hand and work harder to fix those instead of creating more problems or half baked contents. When 14 bomb once again, they will probably go back and "remaster" FFXI for Vita and PS3 for HD edition and drop the PS2.

Things that need fixing and never will be:
The invisible barrier near the exit to downs in upper jueno in the middle of the street
The roaming moogle of jueno
The moogles and corpses that appear in the water behind the campain teleporter in windy shadows
the poor taru kid that always falls through the docks in front of the cooking guild
the backwards toe on cockatrice

When is SE ever going to stop nerfing jobs and buff jobs that direly need adjustments to scale them up to the cream of the crop? It would be nice to see Dragoon standing on their own next to WARs, SAM, MNKs, DRKs and BLUs, and RDMs seeing utility alongside WHM, BLM and SCH again.
When is SE ever going to personally admit that they believe Samurai should be the #1 DD in the game, and the only job to keep getting buffed regardless of it already being powerful beyond belief? Denial is a hollywood diva getting drunk off her ass while telling people "she can stop at any time."
When will SE stop using luck as an element for success in endgame (i'm looking at you Voidwatch, Nyzul Isle Uncharted)? It's been tried and true that weapons and armor you can work forward to getting, not hoping a randomized number generator will be in your favor, will always be more satisfying to play the game for.

i kept it professional as i could lol, people havent been too bad about it either. and unfortunately my signature speaks nothing but the truth. its small wonder why WOW crushes this game in subscribers. its because their DEV team actually LISTENS to their player base, that their GM team actually helps, and they are still cranking out expansion after expansion, and each time they do it, they completely revamp the job system and add either new jobs or new races with EVERY single expansion set. its because they know the truth of my signature lol. i mean litteraly the second the player base raises a legitimate complaint, theyre all over it. i think its because their DEV/GM team actually PLAYS their game >_>

actually, im at 1000 days playtime, and i quit this game once about every three months once the content has gotten stale. i dont sit arround gaming my eyeballs out if theres no good new content.
Also, i cancel my account each time i take a break. all 4 of them and their 8 mules.

My post is just a rehash on the old "direction" the dev's posted a while ago:
When is MNK going to see updates to Chakra, Boost & Chi Blast?
When is WAR going to see the ability to "use all weapons to their full potential"?
When is BLM going to get Meteor?
When is WHM going to get Charmra (ability to remove Charm)
When is PLD & THF going to get more flexible ways to control enmity - in a TRUE sense, not this petty "xxx JA has an enmity increase" - which is useless after hate is capped.
I also recall seeing a post quite a long time ago - after Voidwatch was implemented regarding "PS2 limitations" and new areas.. I think it was Camate or Gildrien that said that "PS2 limitations was never an issue. In fact we are planning to design new areas soon."
Sorry but I have not seen/heard of anything about these "new areas" since that was posted.
So all in all-
#1 Adjust the jobs for the POSITIVE and NOT negative. Quit nerfing stuff, and just make the jobs that are slacking better.
#2 Give us these spells / job abilities / "old/stale/useless" merit adjustments as previously promised.
#3 Give us new zones/expansion/storyline/missions to play with. I will give you guys a push on the creative front - you have talked about the "Far east" in your story - so create it!
If not that, perhaps expanding the Tavnazian area such as giving us access to the Tavnazian city (possibly overrun with high level beastmen) - add a campaign/besieged style event there with reasonable & lasting rewards. Throw in a few extra "field" type zones with force pop nm's (abyssea style)
#4 Lastly - you bash on about RMT's and how they ruin the economy. Look at how your game is currently constructed. All the end-game content / items are based around having massive, excess amounts of gil. Heavy Metal/Dross/Cinder is just one example. Sure 90% of us don't purchase gil, however the current mindset you guys have is encouraging/creating a market for these RMT's. The market would improve if you reduced the amount of gil you require for things such as weapon upgrades - by making them a non-tradable item or simply making the trial a "kill xxx voidwatch NM xxx times" would be more sufficient.
Base relics were fine - as you get the job done quite quickly if you farm with a small group or solo. (Removing TH on BST is a bad idea by the way - your effectively increases the price / ability to farm currency, therefore increasing the amount of gil people will be tempted to purchase). Anyway base relics are fine, simply for the fact to get them from 75-95 you have to complete several Magian Trials based on killing xxx nm or xxx ws's etc. Where did your brains go when you released the 90-99 empyrean trials however? Requiring GIL to upgrade something like this is surely to crack champaign bottles in the little RMT offices.
Bitch session is over. I write this after 3 hours of standing idle in port jeuno out of boredom..

Okay my three requests of what I would like to see or when/if they will do this:
How about fixing lock ups on cut scenes for Wings of the goddess missions/quests? Reason I would really like for my friends to be able to get through their cut scenes and actually not lock up and have to ask someone else to do them and miss out on the cut scenes themselves. It sucks and I think it is not very fair for them to not be able to enjoy that storyline with having to miss over half of the story due to lock ups. And yes this even happens on computers as well as ps2s. Not sure about xbox though. Also what about when they restart and try to get that cut scene and instead they get one that does not even match any of the quests or storyline of Wings of the goddess? They try again even after zoning and get you can not pass from the npc. -.- And not meaning to bitch but this is one I would love the development crew to actually answer and not ignore like they had been doing.
Certain nms/hmns need to be looked at big time in the way of their timers. No offense but to wait 24-48 hours for a nm to get an item you need and it not be a 100% drop with thf procing treasure hunter 9+ really blows. And I do know I am not the only one who has bitched about this. Excuse the language but it is really becoming more irritating for gamers who want to play those jobs and can't get their items because of it.
Last one is I would like to see some expansions that could really round out the story. What happens after we defeat shin? Does Pershie go on to help re-build the nations we come to love or to hate? Also at the end of that expansion could we have a unique ending dealing with our jobs and what our toon continues after the ending. I think if it will be our last expansion it would be a great way to give us closure. Then again maybe that was what abbyssea was suppose to be... :/

can't happen, if you scale the other jobs up to be in the same league as the current "flavor of the month" jobs, the people on the "flavor" jobs will whine about how weak THEY are, it's a never-ending cycle. Example:at 75 red mage was the end-all-be-all of healers and whm was only there to raise, if at all. So, they made white mage useful again and now the only way to find a rdm who isn't bitching about it is if you chop off their hands and tongue before you ask their opinion. I'm not saying that rdm doesn't need to be scaled up, but odds are doing so will marginalize white, black, scholar, bard or corsair depending which direction they decide to scale it.
It's not the developers problem, it's the playerbase; we find 1 way that works to beat any new content and stop looking for more, sending any job that doesn't fit the build for the strategy to the trash heap. Again, to use red mage as an example they've announced that enfeebling magic is going to start working at end-game levels; since red mage has the best chance of landing an enfeeble and there is no appreciable loss of XP on death it's entirely possible that white mages days in end-game are numberred once the enfeebling is worked in to "the only way" to do (fill in the blank). So how is this a "playerbase" problem? Well, white, black, blue, summoner, bard, nin, cor, sch, and to some extent pld and dark are all capable of enfeebling a target (the enfeebs vary), but the playerbase will simply ignore that and call the jobs "gimp" since red will be the accepted enfeebler.
This goes for any adjustment they make/content they add. Seriously, give it about 3 weeks for the posted strategies to get out there after the update where this happens, then watch the forums here, you'll see.

I disagree to some extent. I believe while trying to "balance" jobs, they effectively get unbalanced - in a game mechanics sense.
Let us look at the recent one - WAR & MNK were top dog during Abyssea days and beyond, for the simple fact of superior Empyrean Weapon Skills and the introduction to Impetus / Blood Rage. While DRK and SAM got left out on this count. Now while trying to balance these jobs, WAR & MNK got nerfs while SAM and DRK got buffs (in forms of merit weapon skills). The pyramid has in fact reversed and it is now DRK and SAM being extremely powerful. While both WAR and MNK can hold their own hand pretty well, even after nerf - merit weapon skills pushed DRK and SAM's ability beyond WAR and MNK (DRK especially).
My point is quite simply, while trying to balance jobs, the stronger get weaker and the weaker get stronger - rather then a simple "the weaker get stronger". The better jobs get dealt nerfs, when the weaker jobs get buffs - therefore creating unbalance.
I will close by saying I am not a MNK or WAR fanboy, as I have all 4 of these jobs levelled and geared reasonably well, however if WAR and MNK were left alone when the nerf card was being played, I believe you would see more "balance".

Make it so guard and Parry can gain skill even if they fail to proc like evasion is setup. The system is broken ATM where the only way to get skill is to succeed. With the extremely low procs high evasion counter, and shadows compounding the success rate it's like a lottery ticket to get a skill up. The art of skilling up shouldn't be gathering 40 mobs at once or being a full time tank.

part of that is a base trait thing, certain jobs are supposed to do better in areas than others. Melee is largely the flavor of the month because Zerg is the current chosen strat for almost everything. Said it about when these forums came out, as an example it's entirely possible that my bard isn't SUPPOSED to hit as hard as your War. Now dark... well they sat around being irrelevant for a VERY long time despite being intended to be 1 of the 3 hardest hitting melees. The more concentrated a job is supposed to be in 1 area, the weaker in another. Sam is supposed to be the hardest hitting melee, especially with TP moves, War is supposed to be slightly less, compensated by better defense, HP and broader weapon/armor choice, dark slow heavy hits augmented by magic damage but only mediocre defense; while monk parses out about the same DPS it's by a completely different mechanism-punches in bunches and def coming from counter, eva, dodge and the HP pool from hell.
Playstyle dictates their utility end-game. Nukers rock, but they aren't currently getting the love because of a. emphasis on Zerg by players, and b. SE went overboard on AoE that could 1-shot squishier jobs (although they are curently addressing this). You want a job that really suffers look at ranger, it's originally intended to be a DD on par with a BLM and also from a distance. Unfortunately, the damage calc for ranged damage hasn't scaled well in to end-game with the additional 24 levels, but if SE were to correct it then it's entirely possible that RNG is 1-shotting almost everything including NMs up to at least 75, and SE (wisely) doesn't want to go there. The alternative-putting in a different calc system for ranged damage triggered by your level being 76+ would probably be alot more work than we think.
I'm certainly not saying these fixes should not be done. Ideally the only reason a party/alliance should be turning you down on ANY job you choose to show up is because that role is already coverred. They made 20 different jobs because different people like to play different ways and the job choices are supposed to accomodate that. Unfortunately, the players won't. Putting in more varied content that needs to be addressed through the addition of x type party role is one way to restore relevance, although I've never been a fan of players forcing me into jobs I don't want, I doubt I'd be any more fond of the Devs doing it. I still have a sour taste in my mouth from ACP at 75 when I only had bst and bard at that level-neither job being a stand-out at the fight, even if we did eventually beat it with some wierd strat I devised that I can't currently remember.
seriously, it's a problem. no matter what the devs try to implement to keep everyone involved the players hi-jack it into a single mold and woe unto ye should ye deviate from the mold.
