Missing translations

There were several posts made on the JP side in the last week that didn't get translated, but appear to have relevant information. Since the reps here have explicitly said that they don't want us speculating on information based only on untranslated posts, I'd appreciate it if official translations could be provided.

Seemed someone else noticed the numbers they gave weren't quite adding up. While it seems they deny the error in the above post, here's an earlier post by Mocchi (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/19453-%E3%82%B3%E3%83%AB%E3%82%BB%E3%82%A2%E3%81%AE%E8%AA%BF%E6%95%B4%E3%81%AB%E3%81%A4%E3%81%84%E3%81%A6?p=276713&viewfull=1#post276713) that gives the correct defense numbers while using food (it just doesn't provide the value when adding Gallant's on top of that).

Someone seems to have worked out the actual calculation order (base defense plus any Vit mods from food, apply the sub of Defender and Gallant's percent bonus, and then food applied on top of that) if the percentages they are giving for Gallant's are correct, but that differs from what it appears Mocchi posted. This will need further monitoring.

Greetings,

While I understand the reasoning behind creating the thread, I want to make a few points clear in regards to how we handle translations from our JP and EU counterparts.

There are times where posts/replies just aren't applicable, or are more of a direct response to specific topics that don't apply to other discussions in other regions. We check each day to make sure that important information is getting conveyed, but we do not have a policy where our reps simply translate posts from other reps on the forum on a 1:1 ratio. Of course, if the information is important and applicable, we will make all efforts to make sure it is disseminated between all the regions. We recently began starting new threads with info that may not have existed outside the original region, to further facilitate communication.

Some of the posts you pointed out are in our queue (our offices were closed yesterday due to a national holiday. ;)) and will be handled. That said, we will take your feedback and desire to learn more about what's going on day-to-day to heart and we'll continue to examine each post as something that should be shared.

However, as I would rather not set a precedent of "this was posted on the JP/FR/DE forums, please translate it for us: link" I'll be closing this thread.
