First, let me ask SE a question:

Dear SE, do you have any plans to increase players' ability to acquire alexandrite? We want to know.

I think a lot of people were hoping that nyzul 2 would make alexandrite easier to acquire, thus enabling the pursuit of mythics in much the same way as dynamis updates has enabled the pursuit of relics.

This certainly did not happen. Since players must now use tags to do nyzul2 instead of for assault points, which is required for salvage tags, nyzul2 could be said to have virtually zero impact on alexandrite. Instead, players can simply choose to do nyzul2 instead of salvage and so far it seems like nyzul2 is a significantly inferior alternative. Sure, the overall amount of alexandrite being produced will increase, but I can confidently predict it will not be enough to impact alexandrite sale price. So mythic still requires a 300million gil investment as just 1 of many steps. Maybe this is how its supposed to be, but either way I sure hope SE can communicate their plans better.

And then about all those other mythic steps... SE did you make token rewards from nyzul 2 so poor on purpose? And as far as revamping einherjar so that people do it again, i can't wait to see if the development plans here will be as catastrophic as the new nyzul event...

The problem with Alexandrite is you really can't farm it effectively. One can farm in Dynamis because the mobs re-pop after a few minutes, which, soloing or duoing, can net you 150 coins a run at least. In Salvage, mobs do not re-pop and in some remnants, would be impossible for them to because killing gears in a certain way is the only way to make a rampart form or an NM pop. Farming in Salvage is killing gears hoping for at least one Alex, maybe 3 if have TH (which nets about 30 or so) and killing NMs for pouches. Good pouches are the only way to make a real good Alex output in Salvage as it stands now. Once the gears are dead, they are gone until you have another Remnants Permit. Making the gears in Abyssea drop them wouldn't be too effective either because EVERYONE would be out there, overcrowding the mob and making the time in Abyssea to farm almost impossible. Likewise, this would probably not drive the price of Alex down any unless they made pouches a gold chest drop in one of the zones.

Not sure what SE will do, if anything, to relieve that Alexandrite pains for people making Mythic. Apart from adding Alex drops from every mob in Salvage or revamping Salvage so mobs re-pop, anyone have any ideas? Neo-Nyzul might be if they ditch the luck-based system and allow floor progression (oh, and ditch the use of tags. The 30 min cooldown is annoying enough).

Would all ready make a huge difference in supply if linen pouches were made 100% drop. A nice incentive to keep doing bosses even if you all have the lvl 25 pieces it has to offer. 50-99 alex closer to your goal or an extra 50-99 alex to sell in bazaars.

Exactly this.

Change Salvage to be more like Dynamis. That way we can save our assault tags for neo nyzul, and do solo runs to gather alex and pop items, then team up to take out the big NMs.
