The Elemental MP Cost merit point enhancement now reduces MP cost by three points per level instead of one.
*Beginning with the next version update, merit point enhancements will reduce summoning magic recast times instead of elemental magic MP cost. (<--- Errr!?.... What does this mean? :confused:)

I'm hoping this means' Spirit Elementals' recast times will be reduced by merits.

what it means is that if you had put your merits into Elemental MP Reduction, you have wasted those merit points. Thankfully, xp is so easy to come by now so you can replaced it.

Anyone else laugh when they 1st saw the official note earlier today beside me?

Seriously, I hate it when bad translations occur in the Version Update notes. They always make me so mad!
The actual Japanese says "Casting Time", not "Recast Time".

This is a re-iteration of what one of the mods in the JP Summoner forum said a few days ago.

Faster casting of what is the question. They can't write a clear message if their life depended on it.

All I read is that they want to let us put 5 merits into shortening the summoning animation of avatars. (Which is 10ish seconds now). And the only time this matters, is when you are solo kiting a monster in a closed space...

yeah this really isn't clear, are they changing it to summoning magic fast cast? are they giving spirits fast cast?

either way i hope the spirit adjustments they have planned involve a reduction to the perp cost if they taking away the merits, it makes no sense that a little ball of energy costs more perp than the gods anyway...

Yea it makes me really confused. Why can't it be BOTH bonuses on the merits?

PUP can get macc+MAB or acc+att, and we can only pick one of each. Just let us have -perp and fast cast on spirits and they might even be worth using for fun.

It should have been spirit recast time (which still wouldn't really help much, seeing as how they don't have enough elemental magic skill to reliably land spells on any high end mobs), but I'm pretty sure it's summoning magic casting time. E.g. how long it takes you to summon something.

As long as the AI of the spirits will be updated soon in the future, then I don't mind this as an update.

AF2 pants have different wording.

Also, spirits have a hard cap at about 20ish seconds delay reduction anyway, so unless the new merits bypass the cap, it is useless changes.

But useless changes is what defines a SMN
