From: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/20541-Exenterator-s-effect-duration-does-not-vary-with-TP.

Byrth >> I see you just copy and pasted the entry by Karbuncle. As it seems you are not taking this process as seriously as we would like, we are going to close this thread. If you ever wish to provide the actual information we are seeking from You, please create a new thread and we will be happy to submit the report to our Development Team.

We thank everyone for their understanding, but this thread is now closed.

-Senior Game Master Jhanaka

The above just occured in the Bugs section after Byrth offered game bug testing. When asked to fill out the form, he informed them on how the form not only was unnecessary but it even made it more complicated.
When pressured, he provided the proper form (as filled out by another tester previously). At this, a Senior GM came and, after being extreamly disrespectful, locked the thread.

Mr. Jhanaka, can you please inform us as to what part of Byrth's report does not contain "actual information" that it lead you to close this thread

It's their job, they have to send reports in with that format. There are procedures that have to be followed, give him a break. If it was that big of a deal I'm sure he could have taken the extra 5 seconds to fill BS into the report format just so they could submit it.

I don't care about the GM trolling. I find it odd that they worked with him up until the point where he actually gave them their information, THEN they closed it.
Perhaps they are learning to troll themselves hahaha

I don't really care about them fixing the duration of Accuracy Down with Exenterator, MDB down with Shattersoul, or Plague with Shijin Spiral. I just thought they might want to know that they messed up the last update. The real fail here is on SE's end for having GMs (who don't know anything about game mechanics) monitoring an In Game Bugs forum. They would generally tell you such bugs are "working as intended" if you figured out how to report the bug as a TOS violation so that someone will talk to you in game instead of replying with a form message.

So I go toss a bug report up that has all the usable information. I think the form is stupid and most of the information on it is used to weed out idiots, so I didn't fill it out the form. It doesn't actually matter to me and I was wondering how far I have to push to get GMs to do something useful. Their "be useless enough that people stop asking you to do something useful" motto won out in the end. A decade of success and going strong. It is actually a fairly successful consumer support strategy (allows you to reduce staff while claiming to provide support) and I've had to try to get help from SE in the past with billing issues, game issues, anything, and not been helped so I wasn't really that surprised. The best customer service I have gotten so far out of any branch of SE is polite un-helpfulness.

They copied and pasted something someone else posted. Had they not of been so pointlessly stubborn they could have gave the proper information and that'd have been the end of it.

Weren't helped by certain other people either.

What does it matter if it was copy pasted? Karbuncle did the EXACT SAME TEST.
You are absurd. So if someone asks me 2+2, I can't copy and paste someone's answer of 4?

Because it's the rules of the bug forum, follow them or don't post. The GM's don't make them, but they are paid to give them the details that are asked.

hehe... you dug a very deep pit for yourself there...

But concerning the situation, all the OP had to do was to fill in the requested fields as best as possible. Yes, they might not always make much sense, but some bugs might be caused by weird conditions, and the better those conditions are known, the better they can investigate them.
By copying Karbuncle's report, the OP made it clear he wasn't going to provide an honest answer and there was no need to keep said thread open. Karbuncle was adviced to open his own bug report, he did, and it was processed properly.

So, the moderators acted correctly.

It would be nice if the bug report forum would pre-fill a new thread with the requested fields.

you guys are fucking retarded self-entitled dipshits. that's why your threads get locked. case closed. stop being such brats and follow the fucking rules. it really doesn't take that much longer to fill out the form as requested.
