Diabolic Eye

Recast time will be reduced from fifteen minutes to ten.
Additional merit points will no longer reduce recast time, but instead reduce maximum HP by an additional 20% per point.

I'm sure we've gotten a mistranslation here. Or maybe not.

Default HP reduction reduction is 15%.
2 merits: 35% Max HP reduction
3 merits: 55% Max HP reduction
Four merits: 75% Max HP reduction
Five merits: 95% Max HP reduction
Okay, almost self-KO, assuming the first merit is still only 15%.

Anyway, so I'm guessing it's supposed to reduce the HP reduction by 20% per merit. So if this is the case, and the first merit is still a 15% reduction, the results would be as follows:
1 merit: 15% HP reduction
2 merits: 12% HP reduction
3 merits: 9% HP reduction
4 merits: 6% HP reduction
5 merits: 3% HP reduction

Is this correct? Can we receive a fixed translation and clarification?

Finally, my feedback on this: I have 3 merits in Diabolic Eye. I don't mind the HP reduction much, especially in Abyssea with cruor buffs and atma. Increasing the accuracy effect would be preferred. Also, this update is going to increase recast time for anyone with 4-5 merits in the ability, and I don't think that's fair. The ability is not overpowered at all, and a 5-minute recast would be more BALANCED.

The increased recast is also just an error in the English version, thankfully.

According to the update for Chevalier Noir:

Oeil diabolique

Réduction du délai de réutilisation de 15 à 5 minutes.

According to the update for Yomi Hikkomori or whatever the Japanese name for Dark Knight is:

ディアボリクアイ

使用間隔を15分 → 5分に変更

Wait, there were people who actually used this ability? This ability never even made sense because of the other abilities it has that increase your HP / are based on your HP.

this is right
(french:
Chaque degré franchi avec des points de mérite diminuera de 20% la pénalité aux HP maximums subie lors de l'utilisation de l'aptitude (au lieu de réduire le délai de réutilisation de 2 minutes et 30 secondes).

Desperate Blows is obvious 5/5. Diabolic Eye is 3/5 at least.

Just look at the alternatives for DRK group 2 merits: Dark Seal and Muted Soul.

Hi Edyth,

Thanks for bringing up these errors. You're correct in that it the Diabolic Eye recast should be reduced to 5 minutes (not 10) and I've fixed that. As for your second point, I am double checking with the Localization team, but I believe it should be "but instead reduce the maximum HP down effect by 20% per point." I'll edit that part after I get confirmation!

It definitely says that.

Thanks for the clarification, Bayohne.

Also, am I the only one who assumed Bayohne is a woman in real life simply because of the morbol picture? Most morbol NMs have female names. The only exception that comes to mind is the Morbol Emperor....

Or there is a much darker side to this we really don't want to know about.

As we thought, you were right about the adjustment and the offending text has been fixed on the notes! ("Additional merit points will no longer reduce recast time, but instead lessen the maximum HP down effect by 20% per point.")
