I'm curious if the Dev team has any plans to release new story content to FFXI anywhere down the road. I know a lot of people just spammed enter through the various missions and quests... that they likely only did in order to gain access so some content... but, I personally enjoyed reading the mission dialogs and watching the cut-scenes (Wings of the Goddess was especially epic despite how much people seem to have hated that expansion.)
With what seems to be virtually no chance of a new expansion ever being made, my only hope is that SE will either add new storyline quests, similar to the ones in WotG, or expand upon existing missions (e.g. going past rank 10 for nations.) It's getting really boring grinding endgame for logs and ores, and then being rewarded with cut-scenes of arrogant Zilart insulting you for doing what they asked as you make your way though the tiers of Void(log)watch...
