I'm sure when our feathered friend bit the proverbial big one, the feathers went flying. We've even got some feathers out there... Where's the phoenix down? This is the largest hole in the FFXI universe.

Why is your name Dallas now instead of Hordcori? or Hordcoru?

I am aware, as I'm sure are you, that none of those are Phoenix down. Phoenix down always casts Raise, not Reraise. FFXI lacks the ability to use item X on another player.

In the FFXI universe, the down of Phoenix is so fine that it quickly broke down into a sort of dust. Smaller than dust, actually. A barely visible particle.
This down was carried by the winds of Vana'diel. Some people breathed it in and contracted Phoenix Downs Syndrome. Some of those people post on this very board.

Actually, it doesn't lack that ability. There are items you can use on other players. Example: Catholicon.

Or signet staves. The coding exists. I believe they once said they didn't want to add an item like this to prevent zerging. Which is moot, these days, but y'know.

It's not even special coding. All items ask for a target, just like abilities- it just so happens hat most of them are restricted to self only.
FFXIV has items to rez other players (not called phoenix down, but who the hell cares what its called). Should add them here as well.

Every potion in the game should target others. That's the problem. SE has been terrified of potions to the point that they prpgramming medicine sickness.

That's because they didn't want the game to be a potionfest. Obviously, considering the strength of most potions, that was never really likely to be a problem though...

If the game became a potion-fest, potions would first have to stack. Poor excuses for something that can't possibly happen.

potions dont stack but potion and ether Drops do, you should check them out some time

This topic is less about the HP and mp and more about raises. I realize there are minor exceptions to every rule in this game. It's sloppy.
I only really care about Dawn Mulsum for healing, so I leave it to people who want to use potions to complain.

Yes they do, but they suck. The very thing that would make them useful as a stackable item (being able to use them more) is the very thing you cannot do with them because they've put a stupid 'medicated' effect on their use. Ether and potion drops are a joke.
SE really needs to lighten up on the harsh medicine restrictions. Let people use their medicines on other players for a start, it won't kill anything due the low amounts they actually restore, and remove the medicated effect altogether. Their use time and 'cooldown' (where you are unable to perform actions) should be sufficient enough to prevent players overusing them. Besides, many of them are prohibitive on costs alone.
With all the freebies given out in chests, you'd think SE wants use to actually put them to better use. How about they make them useful first, and then maybe we'd have a reason to.

the way I see it we're lucky more things dont give medicated effect. Really surprised how you can just Load up on on 160+ Dawn Muslum and just spam them forever. and thats what the game would turn into if meds didn't give Medicated effect

Any argument against adding pheonix downs to the game could be defeated simply by saying: "Atma of the Apocolypse"

The "phoenix is dead" argument slips by your defenses. ;)

80 slots -gear, with 80 slot Mog sack, and Mog Satchel. I can carry over 160+ if i felt like it.
if you only have 5 slots in your inventory try shuffling some stuff around in your house/safe/locker. also use porter moogle and storage NPCs

I don't know anyone who has a totally empty sack statchel and inventory. That is a totally unreasonable expectation.

If meds could be used on others Alchemy would actually be a worthwhile craft to Lv.
