The required charges for the following abilities will be reduced from two to one:
Altruism / Focalization / Tranquility / Equanimity
Long overdue if you ask me.

Relic+2 gives a ~20% chance per merit (so 100% with 5/5) of these Stratagems costing one charge currently. After this they can presumably be free of charge. I'll take -50 enmity for free over 7INT any day.

Relic+2 is fairly recent and these Stratagems costing 1 charge is one of the oldest and most frequently suggested adjustment around. I highly doubt they'd implement Relic+2 as a means of making these cost 1 charge and then turn around the next update and decide to drop them down to 1 charge anyway; they'd have just made the Relic+2 enhancement -2 enmity per merit like the rest.
Granted this is SE, but unless a community rep pops in and says they're changing the Relic+2 I doubt they will. This wouldn't be the first time SE ends up doing a follow-up update after doing something like this in any case, considering it's 100% related they would put the Relic+2 adjustment in this note as well.
It's not like they'll cost no Stratagems at all either, going 5/5 is the only way that would be accomplished and I doubt many people will do that and you certainly can't do it for all of them. It would finally make these merits useful and worth some contemplation though.

I had all 4 of these stratagems merited, but with 2 charges I just couldn't really justify using them much. Admitedly I never looked into the AF2+2 augments - simply because the first thing I think of is Stormsurge (my only 5/5 merit).
Speaking of AF2+2 augments, does the one with Enlightenment make it work the way it's "supposed" to? That's the only possible "enhancement" I can think of. Suppose I could log on test server and find out myself.
You can have your -50 Enmity for free! I'll take my mini-elemental seal focalization on all nukes for free $.$!

Hell if af2+2 augmented gear made stratgems free screw stormsurge i'd 5/5 Equanmity and Tranquility and have -50 enmity nukes and cure IV's full time.

This. I sure hope it does.
Either way, very nice change and I'm glad I'll be able to use Equanimity more than I already do.

yeah that's why its never gonna happen.
It might get reduced down to a ~50% chance of consuming no stratagem, but even then i doubt it.

Hey now can't go sayin Relic+2 and all the effect and then say "-50 enmity for free over 7INT" count the relic for Storms too its +12 int with relic+2 boots. not that its really much of a difference but some ppl might find it important :)

I'd much rather have -50 enmity cures and nukes than the ability to give people +12 (or +6) to stats.

I've literally had Modus Veritas land once recently in a series of VW events that included bastok/windurst climb and some Jeuno T1's. I can go an entire night with it not landing, extremely annoying. >_>
Dear dev. team: Please make it more accurate so that we scholars don't go crazy trying to make our only unique stagger take place. We get it, it's not supposed to land all the time, but the way it is right now, it's terrible, even with a 3 minute recast. We get it, VW shouldn't be all about temps/staggering, doesn't mean the situation with Modus is any less frustrating.

I have -50 enmity cures already (or close to it), but with fully meritted -enmity strat though you could have -75% enmity cures (because strats stack multiplicatively with gear -enmity.

That's true, but looking at it from another perspective you could avoid swapping into -enmity gear, using better gear for other purposes (more damage/potency/whatever) and gaining lots of precious inventory slots.
But anyway this talk is moot, I seriously doubt they're gonna give us free stratagems.

Using a stratagem takes time, and it can be the difference between a life saving cure IV, and a dead party comrade.
Even if they are free, they still takes time to use, seems balanced to me.

Theoretically, since the stratgem would be free, instead of using right before you cast the spell, you could just spam it all the time when your not casting anything (when no one needs immediate cures for example) and not have to worry about wasting stratgems.

Or add it into every macroed spell you have, so you are guaranteed to have it every cast. Flip side though is putting gear in with that macro...

I figured free charges was too good to be true, but wtf does this update make augmented hat and hands useless now? If they are gonna lower the stratgems to 1 charge and don't want to give free charges, they need to make augmented relic gear do something

Apparently the 1 charge thing was simply false, either that or they updated the effect fast enough for the corrected one to appear in a published magazine. I'm talking about the last issue of Dengeki Playstation, where they disclosed all the effects (source: BG, starting from Zirael's post (http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/108377-Relic-2-Bonuses-and-Augments-Thread/page5)).
Head gives with 5/5 and weather the macc bonuses 100% of the time, and hands gives with 5/5 and weather the damage and healing bonuses 100% of the time.

I can't believe that. I'll test it out later if nobody else has, but that's just garbage to me unless it didn't require the stratagems for that effect (yeah, right...).
Even then, not sure it'd be all that useful.
EDIT: Nevermind, Byrth tested it. Ugh, useless.

Head +2 is still good for the 10% cast/recast reduction (double than NQ), and the 7 int isn't bad for un-ebullienced Helices (Sure, I don't know who nukes without ebullience anymore, but...).
Oh, and ;_; at your sig. I hope I never have to face that myself. It's bugged, anyway, so even if you landed it, you would have no proc.

Don't have inventory space for more fast cast gear.
Wish I did though.
Plus I use my Oneiros Helm for Helices (I think).
