Quietus adjustments.

Quietus is a pretty underwhelming WS damage wise compared to some of the other Empy WS. Also the effort put into making a Redemption for this WS doesnt seem to fair, aside from the aftermath.

It beats Guillotine but the new scythe WS Entropy beats it on trash mobs and when souleater is up for Void watch. I hope that the development team will read this and consider making it stronger.

Quietus: Delivers a triple damage attack that ignores target's defense. Amount ignored varies with TP.

Mods: 40%STR, 40%MND

3.0 ignores 10% Defense at 100%
3.0 ignores 30% Defense at 200%
3.0 ignores 50% Defense at 300%

I would suggest the following changes to Quietus to make it stronger WS.

Leave the mods the same but change the ftp from 3.0 to 4.0 or even 5.0, all across the board. Or have it increase the ftp 4.0~100% 5.0~200% 6.0~300%

Change the ignores Deffense to this:
Ignores 20%~25% Defense at 100%
Ignores 30%~35% Defense at 200%
Ignores 50%~60% Defense at 300%

Just some suggestions, or if SE can tell us if they plan on adjusting any other Empy WS other than Ukkos and V smite.

I would love your exact suggestion, but I'd be happy with just an fTP increase, 3.0 is pretty abysmal at this point

4.0 is the minimum it should be

Agreed its extremely bad. Entropy is bad but it's almost always better then Quietus.

Those bat wings are so cool, but that damage is so bad. It's like they are punishing DRK for no apparent reason.

I noticed the DRG notes didn't mention fixing camlann's torment...so I don't have much faith for quietus even if DRK gets an update

Scythe path isn't that bad. Chloris is super easy to Duo. Just cap amber then go around farming KIs and pops. I did my Vere in just a few nights. The 2nd stage is one of the easiest for all emps esp now that Amun is always up and the 3rd stage I dual boxed myself in 4-5 evenings.

The real question is why bother? Redemption is very lack luster, you could probably take the time and farm Dynamis for Apoc instead of Abyssea for Redemption.

Apoc is one of the best weapons in the game period. Redemption is the worst emp...

If I got gil for every time I was told that I'd break the max gil cap and crash all servers. It was a serious question. I've looked over the numbers, the modifiers, etc and I still don't see much to get excited over except its golden, its shiny and it gives DRKS with no whm or rdm friends a minute of haste at 300 tp.

I don't think theres anything wrong with wanting Redemption/Quietus to be boosted/fixed. Yes, I understand that Apoc/Liberator are the better options scythe wise but not everyone is going to be able make a relic/mythic/emp. What Im saying is that its not fair that people who choose to make a Redemption or the fake emp version, are rewarded with a sub par WS compared to the other empy WS.

Right now Im just stock piling gil because plates are too expensive and I hope SE either reduces the amount needed for the 95 trials or increase the drop rate of the plates, so that they may go down in price. Sadly at the going rate of things Ill start making a Apoc. 1/3 of the way to 99m >_>;

It's also not wrong to request a minor adjustment to Quietus because not everyone has the time or inclination (or lack of sanity far as Mythic) to go with other options. That being the case, a small reward for those people who choose to make a Redemption because it suits them and their resources would be a very nice thing.

Could I do an Apoc? Sure, 2 times over, but I choose to stick with my guns. I like my Redemption. I like the concept of Empyrean weapons and what it brought to casual players because it wasn't too difficult to acquire. A little love never hurt, nor does a little respect for alternate choices.

No I 100% Agree Quietus needs a buff.

From the examples I've been given by standing next to many DRK with Apoc, that's exactly what it is. None of them are also forthcoming with a decent, respectable explanation that isn't drowning in mathematical formulas I've already looked at. A lot of things look good on paper or in theory, but so far I've seen complete failure in practice. That is my reason for being heavily sarcastic with Apoc being the Be All End All. That doesn't mean I have a lack of respect for any GOOD DRK that can handle their weapons.

Yeah, Scythe is just in that category of 'Get This One or You're Foolish'. I don't think anyone wants it to be that cut and dry, but honestly it just is right now. The Empy Scythe would be a lot more attractive if it had a better WS.

At least with GSWD you have Caladbolg for PLDs and Ragnarok for everyone else. For some jobs you really only have 1 choice or no good choices. What's even worse is when your one good choice is a mythic. It's still really unclear how potent Mythics are for most jobs at 90+. I would love to say just go for a Mythic, but honestly that's a pretty steep price to pay for just going on a whim.

i was trying to avoid the drain aspect of it since apparantly that's a bad thing? I really have no idea anymore. Still entropy is fun and drk/war has been quite a bit of fun in VW recently.
