Peistes Invisible in Abyssea - Misareaux

The Maritime Peistes and the Notorious Monster Gukumatz are invisible on the Xbox 360 version.

Platform: Xbox 360

Problem: Every time I go to do Sobek, it is near impossible for me to get the Pop Items via killing the NM Gukumatz. He and ever Peiste near him are invisible. The only way to target them is to have someone else target it and then /assist or to have them hit you and you auto-target the one attacking you.

When you attack the Maritime Peistes or the NM, it looks like you are hitting the ground and it is impossible to target them apart from the ways mentioned above. The area looks completely clear until loads of invisible monsters start attacking you.

Replicating Problem: Just zone into Abyssea - Misareaux on the Xbox 360. I have went there many times and each time it is the same.

Just a couple of thoughts as I don't have an Xbox, nor would I be able to play FFXI via one even if I did, are each and every Peiste invisible, or just the ones near Gukumatz?

If you lure them away from the area they normally are, is there any change then?
If you can never ever in any circumstances see any of them, I would imagine there is something wrong with the files concerning the particular monster model.

Something that comes to mind is to check if you can see any Peiste at all, for example those in the Pashhow Marshlands [S]. That might not mean anything, but I would still check.

If you haven't done so yet, I would recommend a 'file-check' via PlayOnline Viewer but then again, as I mentioned, I don't have experience on FFXI on Xbox, so I'm not sure how the file management works exactly.

Finally, do you know of any other Xbox players who are/are not experiencing the issue?

I suspect you did not install Wings of the Goddess (as you mentioned account management). If you did install WotG and could see peistes before, it might be a corrupt file, so you could check files to be sure.

(If you reinstalled the game, make sure to install the expansions again as well. You don't need the registry codes, since they are already locked to your account, but the expansion files do not install themselves.)

I have it installed. Abyssea in general doesn't work unless you have it installed. I mentioned account management because that day the payment system was acting buggy and I couldn't pay for my account, so I couldn't check if peistes spawn in other areas.

My first thought was to re-install after my first Sobek run when I got owned by a bunch of invisible things. After re-installing the problem still persists. This wouldn't be the first problem with something not loading on the Xbox. For example I had made a thread previously talking about how Aquatic Depopulization Team fishing map for Moblin Maze Mongers doesn't even load on the Xbox. It just goes to a black screen.

On another note, I have no idea how to check which files are installed on the Xbox version. Does anyone know how to check?

There should be a file check option in the "lobby area" of POL where u can select which gamertags and whatnot. If you set to auto login then this "lobby" page is usually bypassed and the first screen you see is password input. (just mentioning something that's easily overlooked)

If its not there then maybe doing something like logging out of XI via the Xbox guide button and then reloading the game (using the music method to get the disc to read again) might give you an option to check the files. (in that post "disc read error" start up menu you get a few options one should be reinstall and one should be akin to "fuck it just load up POL" and I think... another option is to check files I'm not sure)

P.S. if u ever get the post disc read error start up menu and want to load the game normally (which should be always since the Xbox guide button exit has never corrupted a file in my experience) you should choose the "fuck it just start POL" option and everything should be in working order

It must be files missing I guess. I'll have to try reinstalling it. It seems I'm also missing Cait Sith as I did not see him when I did the cut scene for the mission which he shares his name with.

Haveing the same problem. xbox 360 also. At one time this problem did not exist.
Enter any area where the mobs are located, run past the mobs gets you agro as usua., The red dot appears on the radar to show an enemy but the mob does not load. Only me in the entire zone at certain points of testing, no lag, connection was fine and all other mobs worked fine while in the areas.

Location. United kingdom (Europe).
ISP: Virgin Media.
Type of Internet Connection: Broadband/cable.
Internet Connection Speed: 58mbs.
Date & Time: First noticed october 2011. (roughly)
Frequency: 100% of the time on all peiste mobs in the entire game.
Party or Solo: Both.
Steps: 1. file check found errors in multiple files and attempts to fix these files resulted in nothing but
wasted time and the broken files still remained
2. a complete re-install of the game and all addons
3. another file check attempt resulted in the same as before broken/error in files. total files in
file check 47117 ( 56 problems found )

Moblin Maze Mongers: Also entering any of the mazes causes xbox to completley freeze, reseting xbox and logging back in allows just enough time to use a warp scroll to get out of there. If scroll is not used fast enough, Xbox will freeze up again. Seems if i face a wall while down in a maze the freeze takes a little longer to occur.

Bastok markets (S) in the past: will also freeze when heading past I-9 to the east, when i turn away from that area it does not freeze, as soon as i turn to look in that direction again xbox freezes again.
