Ok so as the title stats certain player characters are causing my game to crash, this means 90% of the time i set foot in port jeuno i crash, also a lot less frequently in ru'lude gardens.

This is an inconvenience but i work around it.

Now a few months ago I was farming sobek pops and sobek when these people arrived and within 5 seconds i crashed and every time i logged back in i had 2-3 seconds before i would crash again. (never had this problem there before) and this happened about 7 times before i gave up for the day.

Now its happened again but this time 5 seconds after popping Briareus, i see people running towards the camp and bang pol had died, luckily it only took 3 re logins to be able to get out of the zone but they had taken my briareus.

Now what i want to know is are they doing this on purpose or are is it some piece of gear that they are wearing that my graphics card doesnt like?

running
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel core2 Quad Q8200
ATI X1900XT
6Gb Ram
etc etc

please help cos i seriously doubt the GM's with give a rats arse

first guess would be you've got some file corruption--have you run a diskcheck (Windows) and a file check (POL)?

Ezekieal,

We’re inclined to agree with RAIST’s suggestions; file corruption would be the most likely cause for the FINAL FANTASY XI to crash completely when encountering certain players.

To perform a File Check in the PlayOnline Viewer, please do the following:
1- Load the PlayOnline Viewer
2- Select ‘Check Files’

The files for the PlayOnline Viewer and FINAL FANTASY XI are managed separately; please be sure that FINAL FANTASY XI is selected from the drop down menu before clicking the ‘Check Files’ button.
