View Full Version : Ammunition Costs

This applies to both RNG and COR (and any other job wanting to make use of ammo). I'll be concise because the problem is so obvious that I don't need to go into much detail. Currently, adaman ingots cost 70k on bismarck. The price seems to be around 50-70k on most servers. If you craft the ingots themselves, you can potentially lower the cost to around 30-45k per ingot. Anyway, here's the deal:

I go through about 4-5 stacks per 3 hours of voidwatch. This includes downtime between pops for people that need to refresh stones, wait for weakness to wear, etc. @70k per ingot (which doesn't even include fewell cost or firesand), I'm currently spending about 100k/hour playing ranger. If I didn't have smithing leveled, and I had to buy the bullets directly from the AH, I would be spending about 150k/hour playing RNG (the bullets are around 90k per stack).

The devs posted awhile ago that they were going to resolve this issue, but they have only made it worse. Please fix this so I don't have to feel guilty playing my favorite job (I'm trying to upgrade a mythic).

P.S. I'm sorry I didn't include any COR info as I don't play the job personally, but I know the cost of their bullets is almost as bad, and they don't even have the option of meriting recycle. I'm posting this thread in the general forum in hopes of it receiving more attention than either the RNG or COR forums.

Thanks!

+1

But i'm not sure this will fall on any more receptive ears out here than in the job forums.

It's been a complaint since Oberon's and Dweomer and only gets worse with each update. Supply seems better since synergists make a nice bit of coin on these new bullets to support their heavy metal plate addiction. Sad when you have to make a choice between playing your job and upgrading your job and can't do both.

But I'm with your revolt against the evil empire.

If you're DDing on COR you are hopefully using wildfire. You can use normal bullets for that and put out very good numbers. Alternatively you can use orichalcum bullets (mab+2) for wildfire at 70k a stack. In terms of weaponskilling I go through 1-2 stacks of bullets in 12 runs. I don't really consider orichalcum bullets viable for all fights but I do save them for the higher level stuff or flashier numbers. I also carry a stack of oberon's bullets with me (racc +6) for marksmanship procs but I don't go through those super fast. I make my own bullets from scratch (farm the clusters, synth firesand from yuhtunga sulfer, make brass ingots from zinc as I acquire them) and so COR doesn't end up costing me a ton however I imagine people who are buying their ammo are spending between 40k (if you use bullets) - 140k (if you use orichalcum) a night on ammo. Overall I think RNG is way more expensive than COR now.

But you don't because of their cost. If you were to argue what the best bullet for Wildfire was, it would be Orichalcum bullets and if they were 5-10k/stack, you would likely use them full time.

So it remains a valid argument that bullets remain too costly for their value and should be changed.

I haven't pulled out RNG much because of the cost and I can play COR which satisfies my ranged attacking needs. But I would like to play it more and not feel like I'm being fleeced every time I buy ammo.

Just an update. Adaman ingots are now 80k. Can we get a fix for this before I'm paying 100k per stack (of bullets)? Thank you.
