Flan not appearing in Abyssea - Konschtat

I was out duoing with a friend who said he could not see the flan up by Guimauve. Even when I was fighting one and he was standing right next to it he could not see them, nor was he able to target them or cast anything on them using the <bt> command. They could, however, attack him. Ran a file check on his PS2 and nothing came up as corrupted. I play on PS2 as well and could see everything fine. This is the only group of mobs that this has occurred with.

I'm probably wrong, but I could have sworn I heard about an error where someone that didn't have the ToAU expansion installed couldn't see those flan. Does your friend have ToAU?
