why does blue mage not have the ability to store a pre made set in the game server and equip it in a rapid fasion? it wouldnt be a hard thing to implement, and would be horribly useful for all blue mages like myself, who use several diffrent sets depending on the situation.
why do we still have to wait 60 seconds on spell sets? thirty seconds would be FAR more prudent, and would allow us to NOT have to set 60 points worth of VW procs.
why, after we were told our proc spells were being lowered, are we working with 4+ procs per element in voidwatch?? it takes 2 blus deticating their entire spell sets to proc spells to cover all elements completely, and is a severe detrement to bluemages everywhere.
please se... im begging you... fix this; this is 2005 type issues in a 2012 game. please keep up with the times and demands of your player base :/

THIS. It was bad enough having to gimp myself with 6 proc spells before in abyssea. VW forces us to become completely useless.

lol thank you for criticizing a dyslexic slip, instead of putting up something more constructive >_>
@lithera
i normally just set full dual-wield III and moosh faces in with my 999+ attack power, and just work with 2-3 full elements instead of 4-5 and switch as needed. blu can drop 3k CDC's left and right on VWNMs and its no where near as bad a DD as people make it out to be, but our potency is SEVERELY limited due to not being able to set all of our good DD spells and good job traits.

Whenever I do VW I make it known that they may have to wait for me to set spells. The wait does suck, but I'm use to it.
However, the latest dev update may make it a little easier to deal with procs which are "unavailable" at the time. On one hand I wonder if this will benefit BLU with this. On the other I worry it may eliminate the one universal reason for alliances to allow BLUs to join in the first place.

I would adore BLU spell sets, and a lowered timer. I understand SE's reasoning for not letting us insta switch spells, but when they put us in situations in which we NEED to switch our spells constantly it's all a touch backwards. I've always said I would love macroable spell sets just for the convienace really, there is so many times I'm sitting there missing 3 set points going "Uuuh... what... what do I usually set here?".
In VW I set a group of "Core" spells and try to free up 10~ish points to sub in proc's when they are needed, but I really only respond to HV / EV procs and just pretend I don't hear the normal V's.

I can understand the reason behind 1 min cooldown time(barance and so on), but a macro that allows BLU to swap spell set like swap gear could be very useful.

Pretty much what all BLU's should do. BLU/WAR with DWIII set at a minimum, could also toss in Acc Bonus / Auto-Refresh. I debated putting TA but it requires a pretty hefty set point cost which leaves very little points left for proc spells or anything else. When we get a EV / HV for a BLU proc I like to set all the proc spells of that element so I only gotta wait one cycle to hit the proc. Thankfully during that period our JT's are still active so you can continue to do CDC spam during the 60s timer.

This is about all I do as blu in VW myself. Set DWIII (since subbing /nin is pointless with shadow strip AOE), maybe toss in a cure spell and leave the rest open for procs, even then i find myself having to reset a few times due to the number of proc spells needed per element and the cost to set them (I think Light element has highest point cost?). Takes nearly a couple min to reset sometimes even with the new auto-order spell list because of time to set each spell then wait 60 seconds before use.
I'd rather they lower the number of spells needed like they did in abyssea, just not to such a degree that is is just 1 per element. More around 2-3 max per element would be better than it is right now.

I agree completly another 2 sets would be nice to have premade that you could switch on the fly, if they can't add this cutting the cooldown on setting spells would help it probably takes 60 seconds to change out spells plus once you got them set its another 60 seconds waiting to be able to use them, if i have to change 5 times to get through all the procs thats 10 minutes of the 30 minutes you have to fight the enemy where blue mage is useless.

I seriously agree with this idea. Every time I have to go BLU for Voidwatch, it pisses me off that I have to scramble through spell elements just to get the weakness trigger. I wish my group would just do without Blue Mage all together, but the chance that a blue magic spell could trigger white makes it practically a priority to bring one. I mean, I'll do it, but i'll be way out of my element doing so with all the rush happening.
If there were something like macro books of preset Blue Magic spells, it make a lot of players happy and make voidwatch weakness procing highly more efficient. I would gladly deal with the 1 minute restriction on blue magic reset if this setting were able to come to fruition. Either this, or please reduce the amount of blue magic needed to trigger voidwatch weakness. I'd like to keep the rest of what's left of my sanity...

I've honestly always thought that Blu should have access to all their spells much like any mage. However; set up so that Only the ones that are equiped would give JA's. Maybe even only equiped get the Stat bonuses, like charged whisker's Dex modifier and such like that. You know, none equipped just be rather gimped power, including the debuffs be reduced amounts give/take what they do normaly.

If they got rid of half of each element we can proc and only kept the ones with the lowest set points it would allow us to also have refresh, auto-refresh (those spells are freaking costly), self heal (magic fruit) and maybe our stuns, to help determine spell procs. It would go a long way to making Logwatch bearible for BLU.

I actually like this idea. I had a similar idea where you have all access to spells, and the spells you equip give you the Job Traits, but any other spells that aren't equipped being casted are reduced in potency/strength. Magic Accuracy should be left untouched, though.
