Martial Master not working..?

A group of us went and tried to skill up during martial master on 100+ mobs and steel shells, using saltena around skill 300 already.. and got like .3 skill ups. I was trying to skill up with Marksmanship and went through 2 saltena and a stack of bullets with only a .1 and .3 the whole time. Seemed kind of weird...

Are you keeping your TP or using it? I heard (rumor) that keeping TP triggers Martial Master.

Martial Master only works with Signet and steelshell usually only goes upto 300 anyway as used to be capped at 276 @ the tree but would've thought it'll cap @ 300ish anyway, you need to fight tougher mobs to get better skill up, just need to be decent challenge above

I could understand steelshells being low but the worms and turtles in gustav? I'll try the store tp method also. Thank you!

just spitballling.... but if you are at 300 skill, that is like a 19 level jump to a level 100 mob for an A+/- ranked weapon. Might be a bit too big of a gap for a consistent high skillup rate. 80-ish skill should move along fine in abyssea, maybe scars areas? That's pretty much where I've done my skillups once I hit 290/300 levels--in Abyssea zones.

Also i should point out that being a 99 COR myself, i found that i gained more skill up using QD than the normal point and shoot
