Was it proven that the fTP boost from Gorgets/belts carries through to all the hits of the ws? Or is that still speculation?

Belt/gorget do work the same on this ws as with others as far as I can tell. And I do feel "joke" is a little harsh. It is stronger that Guillotine is *if* you are willing to gear it right. I treat it just about the same as Torcleaver, capped attk, which in this day and age, no drk has an excuse to not be able to do. I throw a bit of acc in since it is a multi hit, then hurl as much int as I can in the remaining slots. I seriously think the WS does alright. It's great inside abyssea, and even outside I hit around 2kish on T/VT mobs, and my WS build has lots of room for improvement

^----Was a reply i got when i asked in the petition to boost Entropy thread.

And as i'm seeing the two WSs i've meritted thus far working the same, i'm inclined to believe him.

On resolution the ftp carrys across all hits

Base ftp = 0.71
w/gorget and belt adds 0.2 ftp
0.91/0.71 = 1.28 = 28% increase in DMG. (basically u need gorget and belt for this WS)

W/ entropy as above it only works on the first hit or so i've read so prolly better to concentrate on attack/acc/INT mod
Entopy is > Guillotine but not be much

that about sums it up

For entropy it works exactly the same way as Resolution.

Unless ya have a link showing how entropy works with ftp it is pretty safe to presume the ftp only effects the first hit like it does on all the over merited WS except Resolution and Blade:shun which Se specifically mentioned.

Ok, I don't think you get what's going on with the new WS here so let me explain:

1) First of all, the background is that all the old WSs works like this, first hit can has its own fTP, and all the subsequent hits including DA hits are 1.0 fTP fixed. Best example is Insurgency, first hit has an awful 0.5 fTP, but the rest of the 3 hits are 1.0 fTP.

2) New WSs, especially those that have fTP lower than 1.0, have their fTP carried over to all hits. So in Resolution's case, 0.71 is the first hit fTP, therefore, all subsequent hits share the same fTP. Why SE makes the new WSs like that, we don't know, but that's what the tests show.

3) You actually got this thing backward by thinking Resolution and Blade Shun are the exception to the rules. If you know what was tested in the test server before the WSs are released, you will know that this finding was originally on Stardiver, which has a 0.75 ftp. And at the time, Resolution had a 1 fTP first hit, and 1 fTP for the rest of the 4 hits. The fTP of the first hit did not apply to all subsequent hits for Resolution, cuz ppl tested at 300% tp, which the fTP of the first hit was 1.375, and found that the damage didn't indicate a fTP of (1.375 x 5), but instead, it was (1.375 + 1 x 4). So Resolution at the time, was actually an exception to the "New" rules. Not to mention it did have a 30-40% attack penalty, which made all of us including me who tested it on test server discuraged.

4) So SE saw the test server feedback, and decided to make Resolution the same as the other WSs like Stardiver. However, it would make the WS too powerful at 300% tp with 6.8ish fTP total. So they specifically said that they are reducing the fTP, and make it across the board. At the same time, they reduced the attack penalty to 8% only. So it became 0.71 for all hits.

5) So questions were asked when ppl found out that all new WS with less than 1.0 fTP for the first hit has its fTP carried over that what about the gorget/belt bonus? are they carried over to all hits too for those WSs? We know they only apply to the first hit for the old WSs, but since these new WSs work differently, is it possible that gorget/belt carry over? So ppl went to test and found that to be the case. /hurray

6) So after reading the above, you should now have an understanding that: WS with less than 1.0 fTP for the first hit have their fTP carried over across the board. WS with fTP carried over across the board have their fTP boosted by gorget/belt across the board.

So knowing Entropy, what does it look like? Less than 1.0 fTP = fTP carried across the board = gorget/belt carried across the board.

This is just based on understanding. There are actual tests done by ppl, but if you read BG you will find those tests. I can't specifically find it for you, but I know it is there.

Also, studio gobli says the same thing for Entropy if you can read Japanese:

両手鎌 エントロピー 0.75 0.84375 0.9375 4 INT20%~100% ダメージ 重力/振動 ダメージMP変換
全段倍率有効

I can read Japanese so I will translate for you. It says Scythe Entropy, 0.75 ftp at 100%, 0.84375 200%, 0.9375 ftp 300%, 4 hits, INT20-100% (depending on merit), damage based on TP, SC property, drain MP, and 全段倍率有効 = ftp applies to all hits.

So I guess the most important point you take from this is that, for all the WS that has ftp applied to all hits, all of them have gorget/belt boosting all hits.

I was actually surprised that this was even in question until I read the posts closely. No, the reason Resolution is so powerful is not because gorget/belt apply to all hits for it, that's the case for Entropy too, but it is cuz Resolution is 5 hit, and it is STR mod instead of INT mod.

I hope this doesn't offend you in anyway, but trust me, this is how it works.

PS: it is found that some of the new WSs with fTP equal to 1.0 has the same effect, noticeably the axe WS, but I am not sure about that one yet. And I know Last Stand work the same way even though the first hit fTP is 2.0.
