Hello.

I would like to share an idea i have.

It is possible that the estimated time for the servers to be brought back online could be unknown for months.

My idea is if the servers may need to stay suspended for an unexpected and extended amount of time then maybe Square-Enix could implement a simple option on the PlayOnline.com account management site.

There could be an option for players to currently choose for their monthly billing charges to continue as normal but managed by Square-Enix to use the charges as donations to help Japan recover.

Regardless of the suspended servers, I still would gladly like to pay to that it could help many with the situation in Japan.

I believe this would be a easier manageable way to give support with just a few click on the account management site.

The same could also be done for FFXIV player accounts.

Thank You
Juan

Nice thread Illicious, ill be glad to contribute to that, is hard times for the whole country, with the money SE can make in 1 month w/o spending the normal costs can provide very valuable social needs.

I'm pretty sure this has been suggested half a dozen times already.

I have no strong opinion on this topic, but I would say we should just wait for some official guy to comment on one of the already existing threads about this.

Agreed, i hope that SE will do something. through one of the many options brought up by all the post like this one, it looks like the general populous is all for it just a matter of seeing if it happens or not.

It's easier for SE to just stop taking payments and for you donate directly because SE can't by law take donations and if it could i'm sure there would be admin fees ect ect all money that could be saved if u just donated to a charity directly.

Plus usally with diasters like this it money given in the first week or so that makes more of a difference than money in a month or so when the country is able to deal with the problems again so it would hep everyone if ya just donate ur money now rather than wait for a company who have pple prolly worring for there familys and friends and the chance of a nuclear meltdown.

SE does not need to "Collect" the money. If we had the option to pledge a donation, they could donate that much to a relief fund from their own pocket, then keep our payment from April to even it out. That would work around the laws of collecting money when you are not a charity foundation. I'm sure you would get a ton of support if SE would match your pledge. And if everyone got an in-game item to show their support it would be great. I was thinking a Rare/Ex earring called "Spirit of the People". It would cast Reraise 3 on yourself once per earth day. Just like the Japanese people, you can get knocked down hard, and still have the strength and determination to get back up.
