Ok, follow with me if you will.
You're eating a pizza in game right? The WHOLE thing right?
When do you do it?
I ask because...
If you wait to the last second... You can cancel it by moving.... So up to that point you're just staring at the pizza, the same pizza you've had in your.. um... "Sack" for over a month... and ONLY in the last second, do you scarf it down.
Vana'Dielians are disgusting creatures. And you wonder why paralyze makes you lose items? Do I have to spell it out for you? To attain the proper velocity needed to consume these items in the speed at which you do, you need concentration and fine motor control. If you stutter even a little chugging that brew, it's going flying over your shoulder at break-neck speeds even old El Rapido would be jealous of.

This is a topic to cherish.
It still kinda bothers me that the people of FFXI have no problems eating week old steaks and soups, but only specific races are man enough to eat raw meat (Or woman enough to eat raw fish, apparently).
We are talking of a people who can eat almost any mushroom they find for no darn reason.
Heck, they eat the clovers on top of Mandragora.
You would think their stomachs could handle a bit of e.coli.

It's because if you move while eating you drop it and there is no 10 second rule in FFXI.

I think the creepiest fact is that we have no bathrooms in this game, yet poop does exist (you can find bird drops by checking a ??? on sandy-jeuno airship for The Stars of Ifrit quest) <.<

Ahaha, gross! I love this topic. XD It's as funny as Cid's Teeth.
The other day while I was crafting Whitefish Stew for a quest I was wondering about foods and how long they sit on the auction house or in mog sacks. I haven't touched my cooking mule in months. I was shocked to find that all of my incredients, even the raw meat, was still usable...
I mean, I have dragon meat that's half a year old chilling in my mog house! It's a good thing this game doesn't have smell-o-vision.
Maybe they get up to poop when we do! How are we going to know if our characters pulled their slops down to drop a present if we're in the bathroom ourselves, away from the screen? Exactly!
Or maybe Vana'diel has a Depends Subligar brand that we don't know about. No wonder those subligars look so disgusting and foul.

I don't think you scarf it down in the last second, I think if you cancel before you're done, you bring it all up again and pack it up nicely in some aluminium foil. Which doesn't invalidate your statement about Vana'dielians being disgusting creatures.
Oh man, that's even worse!
...Especially when you sell it on the auction house to someone else.

I like to imagine that we treat all food like gum. Like while I am walking around I just have a mouthful of pizza or something and just really enjoy the flavor, but never swallow. This only lasts for so long so I spit it back out into my sack and grab a new piece. This would help me understand the "no bathroom" situation. We are basically mini-gods anyways, since we can just as easily not eat any food for years.

There is that, "Brown" Magic taru in LJ... which begs the question of what he does with the results. And speaking of aged, I've had an unsold Yagudo drink sitting on my mule for a few years now, wouldn't it make sense for its value to increase?
