Today I realized,
as I read the producer's upcoming plans for FFXI, that
no-one at SE has
a clue anymore about what players want from this game.
Killing the same NM 1000's of times over
and over is not fun.
Maybe those who gave
us Abyssea should lead the production now.
Some of us
think that would be for the best.
Good luck, SE, keeping all
of your subscribers if you return to the old grinding style!

Others of us don't. Abyssea was too easy for the rewards that you got. It's bred an entire group of entitled players. Should SE cater specifically to hardcore players? No. But that doesn't mean they should tailor all future content to casuals.
As for killing the same NM 1000's of times, yea. That blows.

After a year of stupid, repeative magian trials, who in their right mind, be it veteran, noob, or casual player, would want to spam any nm even 100 times? Abyssea is too easy, but its fun. I dont need atma, but i will take the concepts from abyssea that work and use them to build new content. I agree, put the abyssea people in charge, they can at least deliver excitement.

Like Magian Trials was responsible for players spamming monsters over and over again. You don't remember ground kings, sky, dynamis, sea, zeni nms, and now voidwatch? At least spamming nms for magian trials allows you to make some kind of progress that if you press on, you'll eventually get rewarded for it.
I'm sick of all this hating on Abyssea and magian content. Take off the rose colored glasses for christ sake.

They need to find a middle ground.

I like that you avoided the word balance. I was saying a couple nights ago that they should put Tanaka and Yoshi in one of those teleporters from "the fly" and combine them into an amazing hideous mutant game developer. They would be a grotesque pile of meat but they would make amazing content.

Um i wish they make a expansion at the level TAU. With new Towns, new areas, new enemies, new dungeons, new jobs. I want a new Expansion like it and not revamped areas one =/.
Kill the same NMs 1000 times in the same old content is bored for me. Probably i can do massive grind if they make a new outstanding expansion.

I find it highly, highly amusing that on one hand, you have players complaining about Magian trials being terribly repetitive and boring, and on the other hand you have a lot of the same players complaining that there should be a point system implemented to Voidwatch so they can feel as though they are being incrementally rewarded for each fight.
This is why no one takes any of you seriously, y'know.

I had high hopes that ALL Job classes will be at the Height of thier power (JA JT WS) at lv99; That no need of various restrictions will be put into place, because with the growth of the Gamers comes the Content, mobs, to challenge and take the brute force of whatever we can dish out. [A mixture of CoP (the Challenge) & Abyssea (Fun & progressive rewards); with a touch of WotG (cutscence wise)]. Not a Turning of the clock back to 75. This is counter productive.
If it is the wish to push gamers from 11 to 14 then annouce it ahead of time (1 year worth) and go all out on what gamers have been asking for. Let all jobs savoir the feeling of really being on top. End the year with a final message:
"Thank You for playing and showing your support. Hope to see you on ff 14. There is more instore. This last year is just a taste of what is yet to come."
And with that, You throw all your creativity in making 14 what You Truly Dream it to be. No more split manpower to run both games.
Is this Cinderella? Perhaps. You maybe right in assuming such, but I rather go through the motions of what I listed above (Ending in a bang) than what we are going through, now. (slow death)

meh dont typically browse anything but the hot topics, but of the threads i read never seen any one complaining about the magian trials other then relic/mythic requirements for 99
