Frequency: Once

Character Name: Genesi

Race: Hume M

World: Fenrir

Main Job: WAR99

Support Job: DNC49

Area and Coordinates: Ru'Lude Gardens (H-5)

Party or Solo: Solo

NPC Name: Magian Moogle

Monster Name: None

Steps:

1. Great Axe Trial 2440/2441 - Completed Item: Sumeru +2

2. After completing Trial 2440 to obtain the Sumeru+2 WS DMG +10% Augmented Great Axe, I attempted to complete the Sumeru+2 TP Bonus +100 Augmented Great Axe.

3. After completing Trial 2441, the Moogle would not allow me to obtain the TP Bonus +100 Great Axe unless I first disposed of the WS DMG +10% Great Axe. (Which I regretfully had to do).

4. This doesn't make sense as players can obtain all the other augmented items in mass (Elemental Staves comes to mind with various augments of each) and have multiples of each with the exact same stats (Pet: PDT Axes comes to mind here).

I'm just curious if this this is working as intended as I would have liked to have had both a TP Bonus +100 Great Axe AND A WS+10% Great Axe.

You're unable to obtain both because it has a rare tag (as do all TP bonus and WS dmg paths, as well as store tp), where as a lot of elemental paths do not have a rare tag.

It's not a bug

Ukko's Fury path and occ attack [insert number of times] paths are also rare/ex, the only paths that aren't are the elemental ones.

Oh wow...I didn't even recognize that...thanks man. It was the first time I ever ran into this problem after doing 20+ complete trial paths so I didn't know what was goin' on. I knew it had to be something so stupid that I must have overlooked.
