Surprisingly, on my server it was dead several hours ago, but there are around 40 people there right now. That said, it would be nice if at least the lowest tiers were easier to solo, or you could get loot despite an incomplete clear if it times out, so that you don't have to rely on being available at peak times on your server.

lol very true and sad, I kinda enjoyed it while it was popular last update. I just despise the no drops.

The event is only done during JP hours and beyond that? A vast wasteland.
Even right now on JP time only SIX people are in this zone. The event is a complete and utter failure and needs to be retooled.

A vast wasteland.
I don't doubt this at all, I'm actually surprised anyone is there. The only reason I'm even checking is for a friend who is trying to get a fake empyrean and can't be talked into getting the real one (probably because it is Fistule). When getting the full Empyrean weapon is easier then getting the "fake" then there is a massive problem.

Step one: Put Heavy Metal pouches in WoE
Step two: remove all the logs, ores, and crap drops that we have in Abyssea already (im looking at you Stone V!!)
Step three: Remove the once a day restriction
Step four: Make adjustments to stop the "BSTs or SMN or dead 90%of the time" (A full compliment of temps at the beginning would be a start)
See where we go from there

WoE is actually a huge success, you're just looking at it wrong.
Tanaka is using that old fashioned method of FFXI game design where you only introduce content that is dead because no one wants to do it/its useless/effort to reward ratio is very bad, and where 95% of new items are inferior to previously existing options. That way no one will ever feel bad that their gear is outdated, or that they're doing 7+ year old content instead of new stuff.

WoE is the only event in the game that I have had nothing to do with at all, I'm not even exactly sure why either but it just has given me no desire to try it at all or look into anything about it. Which is quite sad really, since it's one of the only main events atm.

Weird how so many people want to do this and yet it's always empty... Maybe a warp from jeuno might help after all. You could put the shouts out and it wouldn't take long for everyone to get there?!?

You could put the shouts out and it wouldn't take long for everyone to get there?!?The problem is that people /search first and if no one is there they don't bother. /search of course only counts people in the zone, not the people who want to do it but don't bother to go because no one else is. Of course no one else is there because you miss out on /shouts there. What we need is a general channel--and have it ON BY DEFAULT, don't replicate the screw-up with citywide shouts!

Or like they should have for Campaign Battle and Besieged too... remove weakened penalties.
The whole no skillups think sucks too, otherwise I'd be there with my Summoner for the purpose of doing that... Campaign Battle and WoE both are very kind to Summoners but my skill is so gimped that I'm not really willing to do either at all.

WoE in a nutshell for DD:
Enter chamber.
Use initial JAs.
Engage boss monster.
Instantly get oneshotted by AOE, crippled by a billion feebs or killed by links.
Raise up.
4mins later get oneshotted by an AOE, crippled by a billion feebs or wiped by links.
WoE makes Campaign seem like a genius invention.

On my server it seems the only time you found people in the area is between 11am -3pmish est. After getting nothing but a few coins that I don't need, crafting items that I don't need I gave up. All it was go in die, rr, die, rr, die, rr, die, rr when im on dd job, if on mage longer periods before AoE killed me. Haven't been except once since new areas of WoE, but again no one up there so haven't been back. My Blm has it's proc spells, I don't need to pay millions out for spells when all I do is proc, so was trying to farm them....Guess my Blm will be a gimp 99. But judging from how many spells are on AH not sold, doesn't look like many Blms are in a shopping mood.
One hilarious moment in the WoE, one run I counted 20 Garudas, it was wild to see.
