EST today and i get POL-0020 error DNS server not responding. Tried resetting router and PS2 still nothing, guessing this is a problem i'll have to wait out or is the problem on my end? All my devices/wires are connected and working properly.

most the time when it happens like this, it's something stalling in between you and SE. About the best you can do is contact your ISP to see if they can find it. It could be something local tripping it up too, but considering you were just in last night, I would be inclined to think it's outside of your network....but here's something I posted in another thread you can doublecheck if you want:
Check your security settings--particularly firewalls. Think this was what was tripping it up in the past. Either a local one (Windows firewall, comodo, zonealarm, etc.--check your logs for IP's from SE getting blocked) or your router's security may be blocking communication. Here's some IP ranges I've found for SE servers in the past:
202.67.48.0 - 202.67.63.255
(this has various SE servers like DNS, E-mail, etc)
124.150.152.0 - 124.150.159.255
(various game specific servers--found IP's blocked when FFXI would have connection errors)
If you see these getting blocked in any of your security software's logs, then you'll need to set up exceptions to let them through. If the blocks are happening at your router, then you'll need to at least setup the port forwarding for FFXI or disable some of the router's security to let them through. Note that if the options are there to assign the rule for UDP and/or TCP traffic--you want to enable it for both protocols.
If you contact the ISP, you could forward those IP blocks to them. SE's DNS servers are registered as dns1.square-enix.com through to dns4.square-enix.com if they want to try to trace specifically to the DNS. They also have an alias set up for each one that ends with .net instead of .com. Not sure which one the game uses--the main thing is getting the IP number bound to the name, so either should work.
