View Full Version : Invite to Join Party from anywhere

It seems to me like you should be able to invite someone to join your party no matter what area the person is in. Now, with nexus capes, party building would be so much easier and faster if you could do that. I don't see any real reason to keep it restricted to being in the same area. If you can /tell them, you ought to be able to invite them.

This would be nice....lol
Or atleast a bigger radius for inviting...

Oohh... This would be very nice!
Only... The Nexus cape should be fixed so that you can use it all of the game zones. I remembered trying to use it several times and each time I wanted to use it I couldn't. >_< It was so lame! ; -;

I would like that. It'll abuse the Nexus Cape, but that's what the time restriction is for. World invites, I say yes!
It would be nice since most every modern MMO has the ability to invite people to a party no matter where they are.
The other beef I have with FFXI party system is when I am making an alliance I should be able to have control over inviting the 17 other people. In the current system I do not have this control I can only make a party of 6 then have to get another person to invite 5 other people and same thing for the 3rd party.
As an alliance leader I should have complete control over everyone I invite, who I want to kick which group they are in and the ability to move people who are already in party around between the 3 groups which make up the alliance. This would make alliance creation much easier then having to rely on people who are party leaders in 2 other parties that may or may not be paying attention.

I've never played WoW. So I have no idea how that game works. I agreed to this idea looking at FFXI alone.

This is actually a really great idea, yes it would make it very similar to WoW but why not steal a great idea and use it. SE should do this and implement it in the next update. There is absolutely nothing wrong in making FFXI a clone to WoW, in case you did not notice, Abyssea and all the recent tweaks in a year or so, are moving this game into that direction. Making it faster pace, fun, less of a time sink, and removing this so called "artificial difficulty and challenge" (meaning: wait till next Vana day, level capped battle, wait till next Jpn midnite, wait for this and wait for that).

Honestly, I think that being able to invite someone to your party from any area would be a great help to the functionality of this game. Some people say that it will cause the Nexus Cape to become abused, but hey, we payed $30 bucks for that thing! Let's abuse it!
As for expanding the range of the cape, this might also be an idea for SE to look into. Besides areas that have no map, I see no reason for it not to work in all other areas. Increasing the functionality of the cape would probably also increase the rate of purchase for the three expansion mini-packs. So why not, SE?

I second (or third/fourth/whatever) this notion. Good idea. I'd like to see it as well.
what is this...WoW? you people won's be satisfied till FFXI turns into a WoW clone will ya?>.>;
It's people like you who are so closed minded and afraid of change that you actually argue against a feature that will enhance ease of use.
I forgot how many people in FFXI want nothing to change, if it was up to you guys everything would always be the same and we have no improvements to the game and it would eventually die off.
Does having the ability to invite someone no matter where they are in the world really make FFXI like WoW. No it doesn't the 2 games are entirely different, art, story chars almost everything.

When I first logged on after Heroes of Abyssea installations, I went to Altepa and someone invited me from Misareaux, I think it was a glitch, which probably means its there.

what is this...WoW? you people won's be satisfied till FFXI turns into a WoW clone will ya?>.>;We'll never have a jump feature(Not DRG.) or flying mount. Our graphics are 1,000,000x higher and blizzard has no control. So we're safe for now. Until SE puts out another flop movie and has to merge with them.
One that note, [Yes please.] on [Invite to join party.] from [Anywhere.]

Actually its pretty much impossible to even utilize the Nexus Cape when u cant use the thing unless your in the party with them. And if i have to be in the same region as them, i might as well just run to them and not waste a 40 hour CD on them.
The only time this works is when ur just chillin, hanging out with a buddy u joined a party with at the beginning of the day and one of u just happens to need a hand with something and ur across the world from each other. Your already grouped at that point.
I mean really, having the nexus cape is next to near useless when you cant invite worldwide.

It's not a glitch. Abyssea is all in the same region.

What would be the point though? For anything you want to do you can either meet them at the destination or come to where they are forming, seems a waste of dev time to me.

i don´t know what use it would have for real till i tried out. and i have no clue about nexus cape, cause i don´t have.
but: i been helping a lot of people to get on their feet for sub job, guide them to jeuno for choco license and so on.
and it would help me a lot if i could invite frome far to see how much i have to hurry to help somebody calling out "i´m dieing" and to see where is he dieing so i can take shortest way.
and i´m sure many experienced players do the same, so i would like it.
have fun

You don't have to be in the same region to invite someone with a nexus cape. It's just that nexus cape does not work in all regions.

Now this is totally agree with and they should have done this change years ago.

For me I really don't have an issue gettting around in the world with all the different ways to get to those areas. Besides that most ppl are abyssea which is one teleport away from an invite.

The Nexus cape is a pile of shit.
The entire item is a lie, the only reason I don't toss it is because it reminds me of the PS3 game: Demon's Souls.

This would be nice if it's possible to do. The region limit is a pointless inconvenience.
