i first tried to synergized as i presumed this was a new synergy recipe and told me couldnt do it ( synergy level 80 and clothcraft 90)

i then tried to craft after finally after hours of farming own materials listed below and i just get message "Synthesis cancelled. The combination of this materials can not be synthesized."

has anyone else tested this to confirm it is not just me?

Earth Crystal

1 x Sparkstrand
2 x Wool Cloth
3 x Twill Damask
1 x Tiger Leather

Just a though: Perhaps your Leathercraft is not high enough?

Where does it say to use an earth crystal? Its made via synergy, not crystal crafting.

Well apparently the wikia site does, but the update notes definitely don't.

But yeah, I'm thinking it wasn't successful via Synergy due to the Leathercraft requirement, or something else is off.

Be certain that you were grouped before you click on the furnace to begin, not after. Also it is possible that you need a higher skill level than just when you can get the new rank of veteran at 88. My money is on cloth 95 to attempt it. It's cloth veteran and leather apprentice sub btw.

i am 90 cloth craft friend is 60 leather craft and 80 synergy we formed a party i gave the materials to him he activated furnace traded materials and got message your cloth craft skill is not high enough ok fair enough i trad materials from him i activate furnace and i trade and get the same message. when i try to craft the materials outside if synergy it tells me these materials cant be combined and i tried every piece from the wiki swn set in this way and for the other syths it stat was only level 70+ no sub crafts needed but maybe wiki is wrong wont be first time hence why i brought my questions here. thank you for your input and advice i guess i will have to bang my head off the wall some more for now :(

I don't know who edited the wiki with that data(apparently there isn't a history link anymore to figure that stuff out) but they were dead wrong. They probably looked at test server crap and presumed just so they could be first or whatever. The correct relevant data is found in the dec 14 update thread by SE. All sweven synergy recipes are cloth/leather except for corona which is cloth/alchemy. Typically whatever rank a synergy recipe requires it generally follows this rule of thumb: Adept rank = 85. Veteran rank = 95. Apprentice = 45. Whatever number-5 of a rank. This might be a constant rule. I just know that I've been in the position three times so far where my rank wasn't good enough until I attained 55 GS for one, 95 GS for another, and 45 cooking for another. So yours probably needs 95 cloth. ((EDIT:Actually come to think of it, I don't think I could do one of the newer recipes with 57 smithing and needed 60 on another character. So I suppose you could very well need 100 cloth)).

Which isn't very hard to get. Giant bird fletchings 93. Taru sash 95. Dance shoes 98 instead of sash or Foulard 98 or Al Z sash 99. I guess I have a distorted view these days on "easy" due to wealth but these days none of these mats are what I call expensive per synth. I hit 93 then went to 98 on foulards with some farming work on the Arachne spider NM in kuftal tunnel. It comes with a pretty high profit as they are used for gobbie bag quest which is nice as usually 90-100 is almost a guaranteed gil sink. Though what money I did make was probably lost with NPCing blessed briaults because they don't sell for jack on AH. That's just for 1 level though so I probably came out well ahead after foulard sales.

If you have at least some gil laying around it wouldn't be terribly expensive to do sash to 95 quick. Or take a week or so buying up spider webs or farming them and making the rainbow thread and buying everything else. On my server that synth for me would cost 10k per. Which is pretty good for a lv95 crafting synth. PLing would be 15-20k depending on gold and rainbow single prices. Stacks of this stuff seem to go for far more as people want to PL their crafts and not wait for single purchases or they are crafting for money and still come ahead with paying more for materials or whatever the case may be. As much money as I have I'm still as cheap as they come so I only buy singles myself. A gil saved is a gil earned. I'll bid 999 if it goes through. I don't care if it's just 1 gil saved, dammit. People undercut 99% of the time. I take advantage of that. After 7 and a half years I'm probably 30 mil richer for taking the time to bid less than the AH history. Shrug.
