View Full Version : "Stew Spiced with a Smile" grim typo
Yet even the power of festivity cannot wend its way into all the nooks and crannies of every side street. While the faces of most San d'Orians shine with a jolly glow, one girl's remains dark and gloomy in her own isolated corner of the nation.
Should be "one girl remains," not "one girl's remains." As it is, it sounds like her body is rotting in an alley in San d'Oria somewhere.

While it is a little awkwardly worded, the girl's face is the subject of the line, not the girl itself, which makes the apostrophe make sense.

Puck,
Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns.
As Shadotter so kindly pointed out, "the girl's" refers to Youstia's face since the sentence begins with "the faces of most San d'Orians". I assure you that no Elvaan were harmed in the telling of this tale.

So shouldn't it be "the girl's face remains" for clarity? You really need a noun after the 's .
Reading the full sentence it does make sense, but if you include the word face in there, the sentence is still proper and more easily understood.
