NPC's talking to me in JP and I'm NA

I've been trying to figure out how to unlock the new WS and get to level 99. Someone told me that I needed to talk to the moogle in my MH, but Moogle 2 (assuming that's the one I have to talk to) is speaking to me in JP, and obviously I can't understand it. What can I do about this problem?

Also, it says that I don't have Rise of the Zilart, which also means it won't let me get into Abyssea. Have my files been corrupt perhaps? Help please!

You didn't install the client correctly. Reinstall it and make sure you move the CONTENTS of the FFXI folder you extracted from the archive to the installation folder. do NOT copy the FFXI folder itself.

To verify this is what happened, go to your test client install folder.

If you see a folder called FFXI in there, you did it wrong. You need to take everything inside that folder and put it in the test client install folder instead.

I opened the "ffxi" folders from withing the FFXITC, FFXITC2, and FFXITC3. Took all the files and put them into the path of Program Files/PlayOnline/Final Fantasy Test Client. I copied and pasted once again, and it's still not work.

You may have downloaded the EU files instead of the NA ones.

But to my knowledge, the only way to produce your situation is to not extract the files to the right location.

Also, if you installed, downloaded updates, tried to use the test server, and then tried to fix it, it will have unpredictable results. You need to uninstall the client before trying again.

Edit: have checked through the threads and it does look like using the NA archives on an EU install and vice versa can also cause these problems.
