PLD Evasion Sets

I was Just wondering what other PLDs out there have been using for Evasion builds?

I'm guessing that's an Evasion Shamshir? Should go with Heed Ring instead of the Annulet. Raven Gaiters or Air Solea +1 should be marginally better and far cheaper than Emissary Boots, although lacking the Parrying skill (unless you're doing Campaign, then those are perfect).

Kinda cool to see people go for stuff like this, unless you plan to tank anything serious in this. I'm pretty sure with this you could cap evasion on most things inside Abyssea, including most NMs. Although I'd sacrifice some pieces for other gear, for a better overall effect, even if it sacrificed some Evasion.

Get Ochain if you can and that's you're evasion set done. Won't need anything else :)

I guess the logic is that a 95 PLD has (almost) the same EVA skill as a 90ish DNC,so maybe soloing Abyssea content on PLD might be easier, though you're gonna lack the raw Evasion provided by AGI and Bonuses. It's also going to rape your damage if you're gearing for EVA.

No, because there is no logic. This post was a troll from the beginning. It was just a retarded attempt, but apparently the OP thinks he succeeded.

Capping Evasion inside Abyssea isn't hard for many jobs (I even have to use Aggressor on WAR to make mobs hit me more to retaliate more), whether or not that's actually useful is another question. Depends on what you're trying to achieve, I guess, but usually it's not worth bothering with at all. I never even use my Evasion set on my THF anymore, because it can evade almost everything without it as well. Outside, it's only useful on a handful of things. VWNMs will likely hit you even with full out Evasion set. I tanked Odin on my THF a while ago, that was the last time I noticed Evasion set making a difference. The problem with outside of Abyssea is that there is hardly any content between "too weak" 75 stuff and "incredibly tough" 90+ stuff, for which Evasion sets would make a difference.

And this window of utility is even smaller on PLD. Evasion PLD may be able to notice a difference in Dynamis, but there's hardly any reason to bring a PLD to it at all these days, so again it's a moot point (same with comparable events). And VWNMs won't ever miss an Evasion PLD, no matter the gear.

I would almost believe this thread based off of some of the (terrible) PLD's I have met in-game, but 90% of them don't even know that the official forums exist.

Luckily, these types of players have all switched over to NIN or quit because they couldn't afford to pay for Abyssea.
